| A "mommy" Day Well it's Friday and today is the day that Isabel goes to visit her Great Grandmother aka her Grammy every week. Which means I am free to try and attack this house without having to run after my little one YAY! 
Anyway, yesterday was a very busy very interesting day! Lets see, I had a dentist appointment at 2:15 yesterday afternoon so I had to get up at 8 in the morning to take John to work. Well my friend Wendi wanted to ride along with me to the appointment so I left the house about 12:15 in order to go get her. I wasn't even out of the driveway though before the gas light came on, so after picking her up we had to go straight to the gas station! After that we headed to Carrollton to pick up some money, stopped at Taco Bell's drive through, got something to eat and headed for my appointment. My appointment however was still about 30 minutes away (about an hour from where I live) so we made it to my appointment RIGHT on time.
Once inside the office it was only a few minutes after I filled out the paper work that they called me back. First thing they did was take a crap load of xrays, and since I'm pregnant I had to wear that heavy ass lead apron LOL The poor hygienist about had a heart attack too because she had to stick this metal thing in my mouth to take the xray and accidentally hit it with her hand. It hurt like a mother fucker but I knew that she'd done it completely on accident. Besides she apologized so many times that I thought she was about to burst into tears so I couldn't be mad at her even if I wanted to be LOL After the xrays she did an assessment of my gums to see what kind of cleaning I was going to require. Lets just say it wasn't good news AT ALL!! First it turned out that I'm going to have to have a special kind of cleaning, it's not a deep cleaning like people who have periodontal disease have to have but it's more in depth than a regular cleaning. THEN the dentist came in to assess the xrays..talk about mortified!! You don't know the meaning of the word until your dentist tells you that you need a grand total of 21 fillings!!! Can you IMAGINE? I mean I knew that my teeth had gotten bad over the years but I had no clue they were that bad. You see all my cavities are in between the teeth so you can't see them...from the outside I look like I have perfectly normal, healthy albeit stained teeth! Well I was of course upset by the news but since all the fillings are going to be free (thank you medicaid) I wasn't freaking out to bad. THEN the lady at the front desk informs me that even though all my fillings are covered, my cleaning isn't and that it costs $100 dollars! I have no idea how I'm going to come up with that kind of money especially since the dentist told me that without the cleaning the fillings were pointless!! I've got to figure out something though I don't want to lose my teeth!! I love my teeth and I had to watch both my mother and father go through getting dentures..i don't want to have to go through that!! For my sake and my kids sakes! Ugh!!
Anyway, after the appointment we headed back to Carrollton and stopped by where John works. By the time we got there it was only an hour before time for John to get off of work, so there was no point in going all the way home. Had we tried to come home by the time we got here it would have been time to turn right back around and pick John up so we just sat around and waited. Well it turned out that John was out on a job with Barry (his boss) and the only person there was another guy that works for Barry named Eddie!! Let me fill you in on something real quick before i finish my story, Barry has been a family friend since I was a very little girl! He's known me all my life so naturally when I saw what I'm about to relate I was not a happy camper! First when we drove up there was this little, shifty looking guy sitting there with Eddie! Thinking I was being nice I rolled down my window and asked the little guy when he started working with Barry, at that point he informs me that he doesn't work for Barry he was just there "helping" Eddie...only thing was that they weren't doing anything for Eddie to need help with. Well right after I asked him when he started that little shifty guy left and Eddie started working again. Or I say working, it was more like moving as slowly as he possibly could. He'd split half a log with a log splitter (a machine that works sort of like an axe) when another one of his friends shows up. They stood there and talked about 15 minutes when lo and behold Eddies girlfriend comes walking up and all of a sudden "miraculously" the wood splitter breaks. So Eddie and his little party all gather around the fire that Barry keeps going in a barrel and start talking and laughing as though they were sitting at home! I couldn't believe my eyes!! The little party stayed until they saw Barry's truck coming up through the woods and then they hauled ass. Needless to say the minute John got out of the truck I called him over to the car and filled him in on what had happened while he and Barry were absent. John's supposed to fill Barry in as soon as he gets the chance but as of right now I still don't know where that little situation is headed!
After John got off work we picked him up a pack of cigs, took Wendi home and started to head home ourselves. We were half way there when I realized that I had forgotten to pick up Isabel's WIC at the store and she was on her last bit of formula! So we had to head BACK to town and did that. By the time we got home not only was the gas light BACK on in the car but it was nearly 8 oclock at night! We were up maybe an hour longer then all headed off to bed, we were pooped! lol
Other than that you already know that I plan on cleaning all day today, and since Grammy just came and got Isabel about 40 minutes ago thats what I'm headed off to do. So for now I'm outtie, Blessed Be and caio! |
