18 week and 20 week update!

18 weeks old update

Hello,

Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! We enjoyed just spending time at home, trying to get stuff done.

Niklas went to the doctor on Friday for his 4 month check-up and shots :( on shots... I don't like them.

Weight: 16pounds-6ounces
Length: 25inches
Head Circumference: 44.25cm

So, yes he is growing bigger and bigger! His infant car seat is only rated to 20pounds and/or 26inches... so Friday night we ordered the next car seat! If he stretches out now, his little feet are right at the edge of the seat.

He is still sleeping through the night... YAY! I have seen him roll over twice, but he usually does more scooting and rotating. He has better head control, but every now and then he loses it and bobbles. His newest thing is to rock himself... he will sit on your lap and lean forward then throw himself back at you crashing his head into your chest... actually he is doing it now while I am trying to type, making it difficult. He can hold onto toys and rattles and can sometimes concentrate enough to actually seem like he is purposely reaching for toys now than just arms flying...although he pretty much moves nonstop while awake.

His eyes are still blue with a hazel ring on the inner part... absolutely amazing eyes... I'm already in trouble!

okay so I so totally typed all the above last night! Niklas started getting hungry and tired so I went upstairs to feed him and put him to bed and we both fell asleep! So it wasn't until this morning that I realized that I had not finished this email... sorry. I have to go to work today, but I will upload pictures tonight.

20 weeks old update

Hello there!

It seems like the time just flies! This past week we have been busy with the adoptive father's 14 year-old cousin staying with us while his parents were in Guatemala visiting his sister who is a missionary there. It was nice to have an extra set of hands with Niklas around-he is fabulous with him! Niklas got to watch his first soccer game Friday when we went to watch a game. Not sure if Niklas enjoyed that or just the fact that he was outside :)

Not a whole lot of change in activities for Niklas... still not wanting to roll-over outside of the crib! He sleeps through the night still, unless he rolls over and then it seems to startle him since I can go in there and roll him back over and he goes right back to sleep. He grabs for toys now but doesn't always get a good grip yet. He doesn't seem to have a favorite toy, just likes them all! He loves blankets, but hasn't shown any preference towards a specific one, just wants one when he gets tired. He has officially moved out of the infant seat and is into a convertible seat that is rear facing... he looks so small in it! I don't have any pictures of him in it yet, but will try and get one this week.

His 3month pictures are finally here!!! Where would you like me to send them?
