Court today.

Signing over.
I go to court today in a hour and ten minutes to sign over my rights to Niklas, and make the adoptive parents his legal guardians.

I feel weird going to court lol.
I guess it makes me think about people who go to court when they did something wrong or are being sued.

I am so anxious. I think it's the anticipation of being in a court room, and having the judge talk to me.
I guess I'm going to be asked a lot of questions, such as Niklas's birthday, which hospital he was born at, and questions about the birth father.
Then I sign the papers.

Oh man, wish me luck.

how did the conversation go with the birth father while you were still pregnant and wanted him to sign over his rights? I dont think you ever mentioned it... did the adoption counselor talk to him or did you have to?

My Mother never made it court to sign the papers. I'm glad she didn't sign them because my parents tried to steer me away of any contact with my family what so ever, even though it was a FULLY OPEN ADOPTION. She was abused as a child and as she got older she developed some type of mental illness and I guess finally she gave up and offed herself a few days short of her court date [I was 3 Months]. She gave me up to save me, because my Grandfather was an abusive alcoholic, so I guess in that state of mind she was thinking clearly. Her death no longer makes me sad, I feel her presence often, and it's comforting.
