A few thoughts.

It sometimes seems surreal to me.

My life is basically normal, and then it will just pop into my mind that I did have a baby, and that I did give him up for adoption.

I'm so thankful to be receiving these emails and pictures.
I can't believe that I will be in contact with the adoptive parents for the rest of his life.

Hi.

It seems that time is flying past us... he was 12 weeks yesterday!!! He is getting so big! I cleaned out his dresser Sunday of the 0-3month clothes to make way for the 3-6month & 6month sizes, and even some of those are not going to last long! He is really trying to get control of his head, and he almost has it. He smiles a lot more now and even has started cooing and what we feel is laughing at times too. He is sleeping better at night, we go to bed around 9-10 after eating, eat at 1-2 and again somewhere between 5-6... so I feel more rested, especially since I'm forcing myself to go to bed shortly after him and not at midnight like I used to.

All of the baby showers are done now and I am truly amazed at how generous the people in our lives are. All of our family is totally in love with Niklas! Even a good number of our new church family is too! I'm going to have to work hard to make sure he isn't too spoiled :)

Niklas was baptized on the 18th in the same gown his Great-grandfather William was over 80 years ago. Actually the adoptive father's Mom and her siblings were all baptized in it, and most of the grand kids (the adoptive father was!). Now it is the great-grandchildren who are using it. Evelyn was last month and now Niklas. Pretty cool that now 4 generations have used the same dress. Had we waited any longer to baptize Niklas, I don't think the gown would have fit! My Mom made a quilt out of my wedding dress for the baptism and I can't believe how beautiful it turned out! Since the dress is a family item, I wanted something that was ours that we could hang onto for him, so my Mom cut up my wedding dress and made the quilt... and yes, I was totally okay with her doing so!

He still loves to be outside, although the heat and humidity have made our outdoor activities limited.

Well, I better get back to work, I am working on laundry... we are cloth diapering so I have to wash them before they smell too bad! I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy the pictures and the new video I posted.

I think it's awesome that you're getting all of these updates. I wonder if the adoptive mom likes them too. I just can't help but think that it's a good way to record his life.

I have never commented on your posts before but I found you through a friend and decided to read your whole diary. Your story made me cry the whole way though reading it. I know it takes a lot of strength to do what you did. I am so proud of you and you are my hero. Keep up the good work and he is such a cutie!
