Apology
Sorry for it being so long since the last time I updated!
Everything has been going really well, and life couldn't be any better.
I am receiving my updates in a timely manner, and have been in contact with the adoptive parents.

The last 2 weeks have definitely been a learning experience... trying to see what schedule he might try and get on. He is alert a little more each day, and eats 3-4 ounces every 3-4 hours. Pretty much I've learned that I have to schedule everything (when to leave the house, when to eat, when to work around the house) around his eating times, which can be interesting when he decides that he wants to eat at a different time than you anticipated.. but so far we've made it work... I just inform people to be patient, it takes me a bit longer to get out of the house now than it did before.
The holiday weekend was really busy as I had my cousin and his wife and 3 kids, from Nebraska, stay with us, so that was an adventure! We made a trip to the beach for the first time and thanks to my parents for a sun shade umbrella and letting us borrow their sun tent... he seemed very content at the beach. Actually he loves being outside. As long as I can find him shade and it isn't too hot, I've been trying to sit with him outside.
The flooring for his room finally came in before the holiday so we are hopeful to get that installed in the next week now that our company is gone.
Well I hope you had a good couple weeks and were able to enjoy the nice weather this weekend.

Hello,
It was a busy day today as he had a doctor's appointment. He was supposed to be seen at 4 weeks, but they had a staffing issue and pushed it back to the 6 week age.
Today he was:
11 pounds, 8 ounces
22.25 inches long
39cm head diameter
For a reference, at 1 week he was:
7 pounds, 6 ounces
20 inches long
35cm head diameter
The doctor is very happy with his growth! He has been a little crabby lately, which could be from a growth spurt that happens around 6 weeks, but could also be that he is showing signs of colic... at least at this time, his crabbiness isn't everyday! MOST of the time he is cute and adorable! He loves being outside and his room is almost done!!! (all we have to do is put in the moulding around the floor and I can decorate!!!)
I hope you are doing well. If you ever have any specific questions about him, please let me know.
Niklas doesn't sleep through the night yet, but he doesn't sleep through the day either. He goes 3-4 hours from feeding to feeding and naps in between. Occasionally I've gotten lucky and he has gone 5 hours, so that means I get about 4 hours of sleep. He does tend to stay awake longer during the day and sometimes only naps for 30-45 minutes between feedings.
I thought of you and your mom on his 1 month birthday too. Again, please let me know if there is anything specific that you would like to know. I am hoping to have a friend of mine take portraits soon, and when I do I'll send some along.

HI!
Yesterday Niklas was a BIG boy and got his 2 month shots... he took them like a champ! He did scream and cry, but calmed down pretty quickly after they let me pick him up. He has continued to grow, he was:
12 pounds, 10 ounces
22.5 inches long
39.5cm head diameter
Yesterday he also met his cousins who live in Atlanta, as my brother and his wife are visiting for the week. I didn't get any pictures yesterday, but they are coming over today and so I can make up for that. Niklas is MUCH bigger than Gaelyn who is 5 weeks older, although she is longer than him. At this point we think he may have even surpassed the adoptive father's Sister's baby who is 6 weeks older than Niklas.
His room is coming along... the adoptive father finally put up the closet bar and shelves in the closet so I have been trying to organize everything. It's amazing how much extra stuff they need and aquire!
I'm uploading a few pictures of him smiling... last week he really started smiling at us regularly! Hopefully tomorrow I can upload some of him with his cousins.
