How awkward.

I stopped to get some gasoline last night, and low and behold - guess who was in front of me in line?

You guessed it - Niklas's birth father.

He looked at me, and I looked back at him a bit and he didn't say anything to me.
I noticed that he got a hair cut, and asked him how he liked it, and he actually hesitated and then said "It's fine" without looking at me.
As he was walking out, I said bye to him, and he hesitated again, gave me the peace sign and said "Peace."

I made the decision to not contact him anymore after I had Niklas and I guess that didn't go over very well with him.

The cashier at the gas station we were at always talks to me about Niklas, and so the whole time, I was silently begging her not to say anything and not to ask questions about Niklas.

I think that's a good idea, if he isn't willing to meet up with you, then just send him an email with some pics and put like "pictures of Niklas" as the subject and that way he can open it and look at them whenever he is ready to and at least you'll know that you did what you could. Also, I'm not sure how open you are to having a friendship with him but if you are maybe you just need to come right out and say so if you haven't... maybe he doesn't know how to approach you about it.

Random: Wow. He sounded a bit rude. But if I was Niklas' father and I couldn't be in contact with my children or their new parents then I'd be pretty hurt, too. Wouldn't stop me from being courteous and polite, though.

Why should he be mad about you not contacting him? If he wanted to know about Nikolas sooo bad then he should contact you, communication is a two way street. That's his loss.
