It's my 41st birthday, and what am I doing? Sitting alone on the couch watching Jeremy Kyle and drinking some tea. Kev just called and asked me if I was baking myself a cake? What the hell for? As far as I am concerned, it's just another day.
My neighbor came over the day before yesterday, and asked me if I had heard any suspicious noise over to his house the night before? Nope. I guess that somebody broke into his house and stole his bow & arrow and his safe (that only had his mother's and his wife's ashes) and some of his medications. The sheriff was on the way when he came over to my house. Turns out that he knew the people that broke into his house and they (the robbers) are in jail.
What is the world coming to today? When I moved out into this neighborhood, almost 20 years ago, we were virtually isolated - a few houses around us, I could leave my home and not worry that somebody would have come in while I was gone - even if my doors were unlocked - didn't have to lock my car doors. Now.....I can't even sleep without locking both of the doors and I am hearing increasing stories of houses on this road being robbed. I'm telling you, anybody breaks into my house and endangers me or my family, I will shoot first and ask questions later.
Anyway - I have an awesome dinner planned. Baked chicken with mashed potatoes and squash. There is only going to be me and Kevin though, because my FIL is coming this afternoon to pick up Cameron - woot! - time alone with hubby. It's really pretty sad that my mood has been sinking lately - I could so take advantage of Kev tonight, but I don't know if I will feel up to it.
I didn't sleep very well last night - had a bowl of Cheerios and a mug of cocoa at 3:00 this morning. Tried to get my Sim3 game, but had no luck. Went back to bed and tossed and turned until 6:00 - when Kev got up for work and Cameron got up for school. Tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't settle down.
Anyway, I'm going out to make another cup of tea - maybe some blueberries & cream oatmeal, take the puppies out for a tinkle, and then try to load that damned game again.
