It's a good thing that I love my kids.....
I was talking to my SIL yesterday (well, technically she isn't my SIL, but she's the mother of my nephews, and my brother and she have been together for 10 years or so, so, I consider her my SIL) and I told her some of the things that Cameron has been doing.
Nikki has a 12 year old daughter, she is familiar with *attitude*.
But, she said that it sounded like Cameron was a 'closet' cutter - and that got me all worried.
I did the only thing that I could do. I talked to Cam about it. Told him that I was worried about him. He assured me that he wouldn't do anything like that, and he would talk to me or his father or even a teacher at school if he was feeling down.
After my last entry, I went outside to find Cam, and he was just sitting on the porch. I sat beside him and we were quiet, but I snuck my arm around him, and after a minute or two, he relaxed into me and said that he was sorry for losing his temper.
Nothing has really changed. He still sneaks into my things. He still lies to me. He is sneaky and manipulative. But, I wonder how much of it is typical teenage stuff?
We are sitting in the den right now, watching "Kronk's New Groove" (one of our favorite movies) and the dogs are sitting here with us. Bridgie is sitting on the floor with Cam and Tara is buried in the blankets beside me, snoring.
I'm gonna go online and look for a pattern for an afghan with a butterfly pattern on it. Crocheted. I don't know if I will find it, but I am going to try.
