impromptu shopping trip
I needed to go to East Corinth for a doctor's appointment. I don't really feel like discussing what Annette told me about the fibroids - let's just say that I have to get a colonoscopy (and no, she wasn't 'shitting' me). She said that on my ultrasound it showed my left ovary, which was tiny, and my right ovary couldn't be found on the image. Then she said that it was called "Premature Ovarian Failure" What?! Anyway, now I have to go to a gynecologist to see what needs to be done. Fuck me up a tree sideways!!!
In regards to my tenosynovitis, she wrote another script for Flexeril and told me that she wanted me to start taking Aleve 2 times a day. And, she asked me, would I consider going back to physical therapy. I told her that I didn't know - she told me to think about it. No orders to wear a brace though. (Because, Annette said that she knew how 'compliant' I was, NOT!)
In regards to the iron pills that made me sick and I stopped taking, she told me to at least take a vitamin with Iron - I chose Flintstones, I like the flavor (maybe a little bit too much). And she started me on another blood-pressure pill.
My husband told me that he didn't really think I needed to take a bloop-pressure pill, I just needed to lose a little weight. No, wait, he wasn't telling me that I was fat (which I am), he was saying that if I became more active and lost a little of the extra weight, maybe my blood-pressure wouldn't be so high. Oh, wow, I make Kev sound like a jerk, but he isn't, really - he is also a big man, he weighs 100 lbs more than I do, so he wouldn't DARE to say anything about my weight. LOL.
So, after my appointment, I didn't really feel like going home, so I called Kev at work and told him that I was going over to his mother's house. He suggested that I take Mom and go to our camp lot and pick up our screen tent and collapsible chairs (which I totally expected to be blown away in the tornado winds last night, but they weren't), because we are having a graduation barbacue for Aaron on Saturday.
I stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got a coffee and donut for both of us. The girl at the window gave me a drink-tray, and I told her that I was taking coffee to my mother-in-law (this is a very small town we are talking about here, I know everybody) and she said, 'ooh, she's going to love you forever' and I replied, 'if only it was that easy'. hahahahahaha
So, I picked up mil, and we rode up to the camp lot. We picked up the screen tent and the chairs, getting our asses chewed to bits by the mosquitos. On the way home, she asked if we had time to go to Bangor. Why not? So we went to Bangor.
We stopped at K-mart, because Mom has a charge account there. She was determined to buy my husband some underwears, because he had complained that he didn't have any. I picked him up some tighty-whitys (tmi, I know) and I found some camo boxers, and I threw in a package of white sleeveless t-shirts (which I am fully aware that he doesn't wear, but I figured that I could use them as night shirts if he didn't want them).
Mil also got paper plates, paper cups, tinfoil, plastic silverware, mustard, pickles, relish, and ketchup for the barbacue.
We also share a love of cherry sours, so she got me some of those and some cinnamon bears.
I got a "joe boxer" pillow - because I needed a new pillow.
And she bought me an outfit for Aaron's graduation on Sunday. (Can you believe it, my baby boy is GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!) I picked out a long blue skirt, a flowered shirt with a blue outside (made to look layered), and a silver pair of Jacklyn Smith dress shoes - with a little bit of a heel. I just tried everything on, and it looks decent. I won't be afraid of the pictures that my brother-in-law will inevitably take. (I loathe my picture being taken, I rarely smile for pics).
And, Mom bought me a reusable cup that looks like a McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts "take-out" drink cup. It's all plastic and has a screw-on cap and a built in straw. I wanted the pink one, they are limited edition colors, but, I settled for the brown one, because I really wanted one.
So, after we left Kmart, Mom felt like a cheeseburger, so, because neither one of us had eaten since our donut this morning, we hopped over to McDonalds and got a soda and double cheeseburgers.
Tomorrow morning I am going back to mil's to use her shower (we still have no hot water), and then I am taking her with me when I go to my therapist appointment in Dover. And then, I have to pick her up on Saturday for Aaron's graduation barbecue. And, on Sunday she is coming to Aaron's graduation. Holy shit. I just might get sick of her before the weekend is over. But, probably not. She and I had our issues back in the beginning of my marriage, but, I'm about the only other daughter that she is ever going to get, and she is more of a mother to me than my own mother, so, I think we do okay.
Okay, I really need to get done typing this. Kev won't be getting home until 11 pm, so I have some time to read.
Kids are being quiet. The ethernet cord is plugged into the wall, so I think that they are probably both in their rooms with their computers, facebooking or youtubing. Pefect opportunity to slip into my room and read in bed.
Tootles,
♥
