i be chillin'

I can't sleep. I've got the pug on one side of me snorting and sneezing, and the husband on the other side of me sawing wood (snoring).

I'm getting pretty good at knowing where the symbol and character keys are on my BlackBerry - I can even type in the dark, because the keyboard is lighted.

After playing with codes and layouts for days on end, I am beginning to get sick of looking at them, so I am giving it a rest for now.

I went to my youngest son's student-led conference last night - he is doing really well - academically and socially. Last year was really bad - he has been dx'd with ADHD, and the school was quite upset with us because we refused to have him medicated - but he seems to have made great strides this year. Can you say PROUD MOM?

My oldest and I talked today. He is so much like me that I am surprised I don't see my own reflection when I look at him. But we also fight constantly. I am having a bit of trouble letting him go so he can grow-up, but I'm working on that. He has also been dx'd with ADHD, and was medicated a good portion of his younger years, and I believe that the medications are responsible for his slow reaction time, lack of ability to concentrate and forgetfulness.

On a brighter note - I paid my phone bill off today, and set things in motion to get DSL and WiFi - it hasn't been in this area until now. Yes, I live in a rural area, we don't even have a stop-light, a gas station, a library.

Took my mil out to run some errands, and she treated me to lunch at one of our favorite chinese restaurants. My fortune cookie said "Friendships are like the ocean - you can't see the bottom." The only bad part about the whole thing, besides the sour-faced waitress, was getting a piece of lo-mein stuck in my tooth socket, and messing around with it until I got it out. (One of my fears is that a piece of food will get stuck in there, and the gums will heal up right over it - then it will be trapped there forever!)

Okay, I guess that I am not going to be able to sleep until I take an Ambien, so, I am going to do that and then plug myself into the music player on my BlackBerry.
