the most unlikely friend.....
It's a funny story of how Katie and I became friends.
And we ARE the most unlikely of friends.
See, Katie's husband Brian has been friends with my husband Kevin since they were 14 or 15. I've known Brian almost as long, he stood up at our wedding. But I have NEVER gotten along with anybody that has been with Brian.
Oh sure, I've tried, but not really hard, just a little bit.
The first time I met Katie, we didn't really "gel" - it's not that we didn't not get along, we just didn't really get to know each other.
One day I stopped with Kevin at Brian's house, and Katie was sitting in the kitchen. I sat down at the table and we started talking. She was seven months pregnant with twins, and she was having problems with her teeth, same as me. I know, what a thing to bond over *rolls eyes*. But we did.
I decided that I was going to make booties and hats and blankets for the babies - she was having a boy and a girl.
When I brought those things over, it kinda cemented our friendship. We sat at the table again, and talked about nothing for a few hours.
We started texting back and forth.
Now we talk (text) every single day.
She has become my bestest friend.
I ♥ to go over to her house just to chill. (And it doesn't hurt that I get to cuddle with the babies ) And she and Brian have been out to our house numerous times.
In fact, her 6 year old is staying the night at my house tonight. Yay. My youngest son has bonded with Jbugg (the 6 year old) - it's actually kind of cute, and it softens the rough edges of my 15 year old.
