meal suggestions

I need some meal suggestions but ones that aren't expensive. I am on a very tight budget, still haven't got my job back and now have medical bils too soo..
But I am cooking dinner tomorrow night, my brother & his new gf are coming over to eat and I want to make something they will like but that is cheap and that I can handle making. I am not the best cook but sometimes if I try really hard my stuff doesnt turn out too bad. Any suggestions would be great

feeding a bunch of people on a budget works really well with a pasta or rice-based dish. they're both cheap but really filling, so they make up the bulk of the meal while the more expensive meat and veggies can stretch a long way.
1 or 2 chicken breasts, a head of broccoli, a red pepper, a jar or 2 of sauce (i like to mix plain tomato with an alfredo for a fancier blush sauce) and a bag of pasta should easily come in under $15 and feed 3 or 4 of you. plus, it's easy to make and clean up (2 pots!).

Good luck figuring out something to make! I'm terrible at meal suggestions. So I'm not even going to try. haha.

RYC: Thanks! I think I did pretty well too. =) Well, good news is that I don't have to work! They closed the road in front of the store, so there's no way to get there. It's nice. But it sucks because now my hours are even less. =(
