mean people truly do suck

11/19/2010

I know it's been awhile since I've updated, and I'm sorry for that. I just really have to get this off my chest, and it's too long for a tweet or FB update.

I don't understand what is going on with this world. I cannot leave my house without running into hundreds of rude people. When I go to the grocery store and feel that I'm in someone's way, I move my cart and apologize. I say excuse me. I don't try to run people down in the parking lot. Yes I'm 6 months pregnant, no I don't feel like I need special treatment, but I was at Costco the other day, and I have a huge cart that I'm trying to maneuver, and people were practically running me down, forcing me to move my cart when they could just as easily move theirs, etc. Someone practically ran me down with their cart trying to get to a sample station! I'm sure there is plenty of canned Progresso soup to go around.. calm down lady! I personally don't really like canned soup and wasn't even trying to get to it. I merely wanted to go down the aisle.

Another thing.. cyber bullying! You can be the sweetest person in the world, but once you get on the internet, who the hell cares what you say! It's not like the person on the receiving end is real with feelings, right? I was just on babycenter.com in my birth club forum, and I couldn't believe the horrible things people were saying to this girl, who albeit has problems forming complete, rational sentences, but they were just plain mean to her. Cyber bullying does lead people to commit suicide, and people just don't understand that. I don't care how much a person is annoying me, I'm not going to shoot my mouth off just because I'm protected behind my computer monitor. There is no way I'm going to be the one that leads someone into committing suicide. Yes I know, that if they do kill themselves, there was an underlying reason, but why push them over the edge ever further?

Whatever happened to please, thank you, and excuse me? I know all of our parents taught us those words. Especially these crazy, middle aged women at the grocery store. If they behaved this way when they were children, they would've been knocked across the room!

I'm sorry if what I'm saying doesn't make sense, I just can't get over how mean people can be to people they don't know. Now the holidays are coming up, and that means shopping. Unfortunately it's not a time to gather with family and friends and just be happy together anymore. It's about the shopping. What you get, if your present can top your brother's present, whatever. And now people are going to get even crazier and ruder with the holiday shopping. I just can't deal with it.

On a lighter note, we're having a girl. Her name is going to be Rachel Christine.

sadly, I know what you mean...nobody cares about manners anymore, until someone is 'rude' to them and suddenly its the end of the world. People don't care about anyone but themselves...and if you are a fellow shopper, you are suddenly interfering with their needs, and they will knock you down or cut you off to be sure they get that box of stuffing before you do.. Which is why I already limit my shopping to once every 2 weeks...lol I can't stand it..
