What part of History do you think we might repeat?
Well we have several countries inching themselves toward hardcore populism and fascism, and it typically takes a nice dose of world war to cut out the infected areas, so there's that, lol. I don't think that's ever really going to change, however. It's so ridiculously easy to manipulate a population into populist fascism, especially in the Age of Information where global communication is instant. Not that it was particularly difficult "back in the day" either, but look how simple it was to manipulate 70 million people in the United States to vote for a literal Orwellian nightmare president who literally can't keep his facts straight from one press conference to the next. |
