2010 hall, NCAA FB and a poem

01/08/2010

As long as my heart beats
1-8-10

Rowing down the river of life
Trying to find my wife
Millians of others are trying to do the same
It’s like this big perfection game
Trying to fit all the shapes in before my timer goes off

How will I know if I find her?
Is she Jewish or another?
Is she tall
Is she small
Is she chubby
Is she just like me?
Is she in her thirtys’?
Maybe she is a young fox
Maybe she is older and will rock my sox

Will she like sports?
Will she balance me with her support?
Will she like Bon Jovi?
Maybe she’ll be a fan of country
Will she enjoy reading my poetry?
Will she like my family?
Will I like hers?

A long time ago
I was inlove, you know?
Everyone knew
She didn’t feel the same way though, it’s true
I felt the blues

Somewhere in this world my love is out there
I don’t know where
Or when we’ll meet
But I’ll keep on believing as long as my heart beats

Earlier this week the baseball hall of fame announced their 2010 inducty

Congradulations to Andre "the Hawk" Dawson for being elected.

Unfortunately, the bigger news was who didnt make it. Burt Blyleven, on his 13th year being on the balid, and Roberto (Robby) alamar on his first year.

Robby was a sure thing if you watched baseball in the 90's. There was nothing he could not do. He could steal bases, hit home runs, hit for average, was the best 2b of his time defensively and he loved the game. He was a 12 time all star and a 10 time golden glove winner. He had 210 hrs and 470 sb. Plus he had 2 world series' rings.

The voters are made of us baseball writers who been writing for 10+ years. They can put up to 10 players on their balid. Somehow, 5! 5 baseball writers felt that noone who was up for the honor deserved it and passed in a blank balid. These five writers who have the honor of voting taken away from them. Some writers dont put certain players on the balid because the player didnt treat the writer well. Maybe he didnt give him an interview. OK, fine. But not to put anyone on?

Next year Robby Alomar will be in Baseball's hall of fame.

The Rose Bowl put Texas vs Alabama for the NCAA BCS championship
Colt McCoy, the star qb for texas went down on the 5th play of the game. Despite a historic comeback by true freshman back up Gilbert, he came up short under 2 minutes to go.
Mark Ingram, the hysman trophy winner, came up big, rushing Alabama to a win with 116 yards and 2 touch downs.

I am not so sure if the best team won.
I was hoping for a good game and it was but if Colt McCoy was playing the entire game, it may or may not have been a different story.

The final score

Alabama 31
Texas 21

ryn: thanks, I'll check it out once I'm done with The Nazi Officer's Wife.

lol@the florida weather joke. Its funny cause its true! We had a really hot summer that stretched longer than normal. So long it made me wish for cooler weather....well, careful what you wish for cause its currently 42 out here but feels like its 30 something. We are not used to this in SOUTH Florida!

Yeah, I don't think the best team won either. We DEFINITELY need a playoff like in basketball.
