681 work frustrations Karen calls NKOB 1 24 2015
(I started this Thursday night)
WORK GRRR
So my work is doing a new way of writing billable notes. We all got signed up for a 3 session, bi-weekly (two weeks ago, this week and in two weeks is our last session). I was given the 44 page manual via email. Great. I read it through. I went to the first session 2 weeks ago and I was lost. They weren’t following the manual. They were talking about different forms, which I didn’t have in the manual. It sounds like its extremely easy to do these billable note, to fill out the forms but I’m a visual learning and I could not visualize the form so I have NO IDEA what goes where. I mentioned it to my supervisor on Tuesday and she said it’s in the manual, (the form) I said it wasn’t. She opened up the manual and said it’s on page 9. I went to my page 9 and it explained it but it was just very confusing. I asked my coworker if she could help me next week by grabbing a blank form and taking my finger and showing me where everything is, what the boxes are so I can visualize it-do it. TECHNOLOGY SUCKS.
Speaking of technology sucking, I still don’t have my screen reading program in the computer at work. I don’t know if they got me a log in username-password, and I still have to book the Commission of the blind to come and test it with me, to make sure it is accessible with the work network.
NKOB…I got the right stuff
I bought tickets for New Kids on the Block…
For my college roommate’s wife and a few of her friends.
Since I have an American Express card and AMEX members get a presale they asked if I would get them tickets. I said no problem.
Yesterday, I updated my ticketmaster.com info. The credit card I had on file expiration was 03-14…that wouldn’t have worked. I also found an express phone number. I was ready. Tickets would go on sale at 12on Friday…
At 10:15 Jeffrey called me up and asked if I got the tickets yet. I said they go on sale at noon time. He said that someone already posted they got tickets. I hung up with him, called ticketmaster express, got right through and got them. I got them 5 tickets like they asked. I think I got pretty good seats but don’t really know. I called Jeffrey and told him. Within a few minutes I got an email from his wife, Alicen, thanking me, saying I am the best, yada yada yada. Then sent another email asking where the seat location is. I didn’t know, I was more concern with not pressing a wrong button…and for the next 3 HRS, I went crazy.
I called ticket master “due to a high volume call we are unable to take your call at the moment. Please try your call again later.” I found a customer service number and called that. I got an old fashion busy signal. I tried both again. I then went to ticketmaster.com and looked for a way to look up my tickets. Since I didn’t order them on line, it wasn’t under my history. I did find a form to fill out and filled it out and they told me the confirmation number is invalid. Now I’m really freaking out. I called the two phone numbers again and got the same result. Had a great idea, I used my American express card to purchase the tickets. I can call and they can tell me what the last purchase I made was. My current balance was $17. I knew that the tickets cost a lot more than $17 so now I’m freaking out. I tried both phone numbers for ticketmaster again and then I had another idea. There is a ticketmaster outlet in the mall across the street from me. I can give them the confirmation and look it up for me.
I look up the phone number and call over. The woman that answered told me that she is the customer service person and the ticketmaster people are on break and to call back at two. I thanked her and hung up. My father just got home with our lunches, I got a meatball sub. I told myself to forget about it for 30 minutes and go eat and that’s what I did.
I came back to my room and tried both phone numbers for ticketmaster and if that didn’t work, I’d call the mall back. I called the customer service number and got right through. I put in my confirmation number and it didn’t match. They gave me the option to look it up by my credit card number. I did that. They told me that there is 1 event purchased today. One of the next options was seat location. I looked that up and I had 5 tickets sec 122 Row H seats 10-14. I was RELIEVE!
I called Jeffrey up, told him of my drama. He said I should have just called him. I told him if I called him, he would have freaked out, call his wife. He said no he wouldn’t but I know he would.
So he’s happy and I’m sure his wife and her friends are too.
KAREN CALLS
Shortly after hanging up from Jeffrey, my phone rang.
J: hello?
K: hi
J: hi
K: how are you?
J: good, and you?
K: I’m aallright
J: OH! KAREN!
K: yah?
J: no, I just realized it was you.
K: giggled)
J: (grins)
For the next 90 + minutes we chatted as she was driving to her parent’s house. Today is her father’s b day. Oh how nice it was to hear her angelic voice, her giggles, her laugh, her cursing and then apologizing for cursing…made me laugh, her descriptions of things and how she can just talk and talk, makes me smile. …Especially her description, as she does it so amazingly and with ease and she doesn’t even realize it because that’s who she is.
She told me about how her dog locked her out of her car today.
She has me on speaker and so I said, as I always do “HI MOGI! MMMMOGI!MOGI!MOGI!” (her dod’s name) she was laughing and then said “aww, she’s giving you kisses and her tail is going crazy”
How she quit her job and she has been putting in applications for different places but also slept a lot this week. She was telling me a few things she had made for food.
She told me about her brother asking on Tuesday night if she’s coming down and he did a few times over the next few days. Both of her parents asked her yesterday when she’s coming down.
She told me, but not in details because she knows I cant handle it, about her she had a fight with some type of kitchen slicer and needed to bandage herself up. It wasn’t completely healed but will be soon.
She calls herself clumsy all the time and how she’s always hurting something. She told me how a few days ago, when she woke up, she sat up and stretched and felt a pain in her rib cage.
She also said to me that she cant sit down to pee. Of course this perked my ears. She said her sciatic nerve is bothering her. She said that she either has to stand or crouch without sitting. This kinda stuff always puzzled me and made me curious. ..anywho.
She told me how Mogi is like her in that she’s clumsy too. She was telling me how when she slides, she cant stop and goes into walls but gets up and looks around as if to say “No one saw me? I didn’t do anything.” She mentioned how Mogi also likes to jump from a chair in the living room to another chair or from a chair in the bedroom onto the bed but sometimes she miscalculates… and again, gets up and looks around as if to say, no one saw me, right?
She told me how she’s going to go back up to Indianapolis late next month to hang with friends and do a mural. She has one in the room that use to be hers that gives her bad memories and her brother asked if she would mind painting over it and she had already told their mom she was going to and now she has a reason-theme. She’s going to paint a mural for her nephew.
She’s also going to go through 3 large boxes of her old stuff. She thinks most of it is old models, paintings and the sort she did in HS and college.
I told her about my work issues, about me going to SF, about getting the NKOB tix.
We both talked about our nephews.
There was a few things that she told me she would do and she didn’t-wasn’t sure-wanted her to and didn’t know if she did or not.
She promised me a pic of her with her new nephew during Christmas week.
She said that she forgot but will this weekend.
Later I asked her when she has a free moment, to look on FB, I had sent her a message last month and she still hasn’t read it. She apologized but explained how she clicks on messages to rid of the number and then either forgets to go back or it gets buried but she said she would as soon as she gets on FB.
I also asked her if she ever got anything with the Christmas gift I bought her and Mogi.
I sent her a GC for Michael’s (craft store) and Petsmart.
She told me of the art supplies she bought and thanked me. Mogi enjoyed sitting in the carriage. The cashier thought Mogi was so cute and was asking a bunch of questions about her. By the end of the conversation, she wanted to give Karen her phone number if there was any more in the litter. Karen felt bad but said there was no more. They were all given away.
They then went to Petsmart. She was a lot more descriptive telling me about this store. Mogi got her nails trimmed which took 3 people to clip this little 15LBS dog. “As Mogi was giving me the most pitiful look. Kind of like she was saying help me?” Karen let her walk around a bit in the store. She finally picked out a ball that she loved, which, she was currently using as a pillow on the car seat next to her.
At one point I said “so is this the time where I tell you that I miss you?”
In her soft, from the heart voice she said “I miss you too” I explained to her how I feel so comfortable with her. I can say or do anything. If I want to be silly or serious, thoughtful caring or loving, I can be with you. I cant do that with anyone else.
She told me how she was down by the pond the other day where we fed the ducks and wished I was there with her. I told her next time I wont be so scared of the ducks. I’ll let them eat from my fingers. She was giggling, remembering how I was afraid the ducks would bite my fingers off.
Somewhere in her talking about her parents and going home for her dad’s birthday, she mentioned how she picked up a peanut butter pie that is “oh my god out of this world” and “when you come next, we have to go to have a pie.” She mentioned they have a strawberry shortcake pie. That sounds…orgasmic
When she was talking about all her aches and pains I said…
J: How would you like a body massage? A Jonathan massage from your neck all the way down your back, your legs to your toes?
K: That sounds fucking amazing.
J: remember how good it felt on your back?
K: mmm
J: just imagine that all over your body.
K: I could use it right now.
Oh…lol… I said for a second time in the conversation “HI MOGI! MMMMOGI!MOGI!MOGI!” again Karen giggled with a grin and told me that Mogi is giving me more kisses. I said “I hope I get more of those from you when I see you next” she said with a smirk “Maaaybbbeee”
We also got into a conversation about how I can call her anytime. I argued it but she said I can call any time. Which, in principle I can but she may not answer. She has off till she finds a job so I can definitely call her during the day next week.
Unfortunately, she still melts me. She still makes me grin just from hearing her angelic voice. Her laughs and giggles make me smile. I still… Love her.
