Hola!
I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving with their family, friends, food and football.
Let me back up to the Tuesday before Thanksgiving…
My father had Surgery on his eye. He had a detatched retner. I am thrilled to report that the doctor said the operation was a success and when he went in for his one week check up, the doc said he’s coming along, just another 3-5 more weeks of recuperation and his eye should be back to normal.
The biggest problem for him is that he is extremely bored. Here is a man who is the emergency management director for a city, so not only does he work 40+ hours a week, he is on call 24-7 365.25 and now he is pretty much homebound. He cant drive and he doesn’t have many hobbies.
The work situation, where two of my coworkers were on administrative leave and the last I reported, my boss found out only full time staff left, took the Thanksgiving week off, leaving my boss with no fulltime staff members and my boss was freaking out over it as we had licensing on Nov 30th, meaning everything had to be spotless. Everything had to work properly. No fire hazards issues and all the files would be audited and we were working on it slowly and then this happened?
The very next day the two staff members were allowed to come back to work. The complaint was find to be unfounded. So work was back to somewhat normal as we still had the licensing to prepare for. Which, my boss said that there was a few minor things but was so proud of how everyone did that she’s not going to worry about the minor things.
Jonathan being Jonathan, having not only a calculater and a sports statistic book in my head, I also have a calender and so popped into my head the other day was that my boss's baby is turning #1 on December 2nd. woo. so while I was in the mall yesterday at my bank, I went across the way to the Disney store and bought a little MICKEY MOUSE outfit for the little one and then got a card and I will have everyone sign it and I will leave it for my boss.
My twin and his wife still have not told anyone else about her being pregnant. They’re waiting for the holidays so they can tell pretty much everyone at once. SO exciting!
People ask me “when is Chanukah this year?” and with my first Rabbi’s voice in the back of my head (RIP) saying “it’s the same time every year. It’s on the 25th of Kislev” I had to ask my mom. This year, on the American calendar, it falls on the 20th of December.
That's all for now people
