A look back
10 19 2009
I use to know a girl
No one really noticed her, but she lived in this alternative world
She had piercings and a tattoo
Her Blond hair was streaked with blue
She always looked sad
I felt bad
Riches is something she never had
But she always wore clothes of plaid
Senior year of school she was in my English class
I think, all she was hoping for was to pass
The first day of school she was wearing these cute earrings, I think they were made of brass
She got up, to write something on the board, and for the first time I noticed she has an hour glass
I got a bit excited but I tried to play cool
When the bell rang I asked her what she was doing after school
She said she was going swimming in her pool
She smiled and said yes. As long as you play by my rules
An hour after the final school bell
I was pulling up to her house, I got off my cell
Took a deep breath, thought to my self… well?
It is either going to be like heaven or hell
I got out of my car and walked up to the tall gate
I called her name, figured I would wait
When she didn’t respond, I figured she was a bit late
The door swung opened, “damn, you look so great”
She had on a dark purple bikini
Was this the same lady?
I could not believe the hug she gave me
I got weak in the knees
She invited me in, asked if I brought my own tanning lotion
After confirming the negative, I had a notion
Taking my shirt off, and she rubbed my back with her potion
She definitely knew how to keep her hands in motion
She asked if I wanted something to drink
She offered soda, water and pink lemon aid, I saw her wink
I just smiled and said pink
Words weren’t forming in my head, I just could not think
Staring into the pool, I started daydreaming
My body was steaming
Turning around, I saw her beaming
She had brought out a pitcher, I guess we’ll be double teaming
Being a gentleman, I pored two cups
She was sitting by the table, I pulled a chair up
We were making some small talk
I could tell I wasn’t the only one who’s eyes were taking a walk
I suggested we go in the pool
She thought that idea was cool
I ran over and jumped in
She asked if I wanted to race her, she said “I’ll win”
We had fun that afternoon and we hung out a lot
People thought we were a couple, but we were not
For the school year, we were best of friends
Unfortunately, it quickly came to an end
After we graduated, we went our own ways
I think of her from time to time, wonder why we could not stay
I know that friends come and friends go
But tonight I am feeling a bit low |
