314. a soldier’s serenade
10-25-2014
By Jonathan
I play a soldier’s serenade
Another innocent life was clamed
Another brother killed
Another angel on top of the lord’s highest hill
I play to raise funds for the family
And to raise awareness for world peace
I play for those who fought for our freedom
Men and women, religion and race doesn’t matter neither is where you are from
Come on over, come on in
Please help out, everyone wins
Give a dollar, give a dime
Give a moment of your time
someday we can all be free
I strum a string softly
A perfect harmony
I play this guitar loudly
So everyone can hear me
I’m laid down in my final resting place
Wearing my uniform and my gun, I embrace
Decorated with meddles of honor, including the purple heart
Someone recites Psalm 23, as the tears start
Another soldier died
Another family cries
No one asks why
As they watch the flag of our country fly
