I was unable to express and share my thoughts on the horific tragety that happened in Newtown CT on Friday. I found my pen and paper tonight and wrote the following.

In memory of the people killed in the Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown CT on 12-14-12
It was a quiet Friday morning in this New England town
Parents dropped off their children, no words could be expressed for what was later found
Semi automatic and screams were the only sounds
As a young man shot up an elementary school classroom before turning the gun around
26 innocent people, 20 not being older then 7
All of them now wear wings as they are up in heaven
An entire world tries to understand the reason for what happened here today
no words can comfort the families as we all pray
The media speculated without doing research
Feeding off the vulnerable, as they sit on their high perch
Thrusting microphones in the faces of parents and children
Asking what they heard, the who, what, why and when
December 14th, 2012
So close to Christmas and none of them will get to see Santa’s elves
This holiday season, there won’t be any reason to be merry
28 people in total will be buried
This tragedy, won’t be soon forgotten
We’ll all remember where we were when we heard about these children
People paying their tribute and respect
As the family of these children will never get to rest
Hug your children a little tighter tonight
Tell them you love them and that everything will be alright
