In Jonathan's life, before he was obsessed with baseball there was wrestling.
He would watch all the shows on TV and would go with his mother and two brothers to the Garden every month to see wrestling Live. When there was a paper view event, it was a big deal in Jonathan's house. The entire family would gather together in the den, eating pizza drinking soda while cheering on their favorite wrestlers.
(Its wierd writing in third person)
When the great, Andre the Giant passed away in January of 93, Jonathan was only 14 and heart broken. A person who he actually watched wrestle for many years,, passed away. Remembering the greatest event in Wrestling history, Wrestlemainia III, when the great ledgan of Andre the Giant took on the fans favorite, Hulk Hogan. Or when Jonathan watched him wrestle live, in a bunkhouse brall at the Gahden.
Unfortunately, Jonathan learns more about life as years pass and more wrestlers who he watched while growing up dies way too young of various causes. Although most were heart related, some were "accedental" drug over doses, car accedents, murdered and some did die of old age.
Unfortunately, most of them died between the age of 33-43. It is sad.
Why do I bring this up?
On Friday, March 13th, only 4 days before his 34th birthday, Andrew Martin was found dead in his Tampa apartment.
Cause of death is under investigation.
Although I never heard of Mr. Martin, I stopped watching wrestling about ten years ago, I still feel a connection as I add another wrestler to my long list of people in the wrestling entertainment world who are gone way too young.
Another day, another wrestler dies.
Although I never knew him, it just breaks my heart that another wrestler was taken from this world too early.
