PLEASE, I KNOW THIS IS LONG, BUT I WONT BE AROUND FOR A WHILE, IF YOU GET THE CHANCE, READ THIS AS TWO SEPARATE ENTRIES AND LEAVE NOTES? THANKS!
*background... an older friend of mine gave me shit for not having a fulltime jjob and not doing something with my life. Almost 33 and unsure of where I want to go with my life now.
So... here was my email response.

Well, all that is swept aside because starting with tomorrow running through Tuesday, I am going to be selebrating my birthday.
Because, one meal with family isn’t good enough for Jonathan
You speak of happiness.
You know, how many people can say they have traveled like I have? Seen all the sporting events that I have? Gone to all the concerts that I have?
From the topless beaches of south beach
To the strip clubs of montreal
To the sunny beaches of San Diego
Ofentic bbq in texas
Hall of fame induction in canton Ohio and Cooperstown NY
And visited the basketball hall of fame in Springfield MA
Snowmobiling in NH
Riding in Space Mountain in Mickey’s kingdom
Reported to spring training 7 years in a row for 8 different teams
Stood next to Abe Lincoln in DC
Walked through Millennium park in Chicago
Went to Henry Ford’s house in Greenfield village just outside of Detroit
Walked over a steel bridge in Pittsburg
Went to George's island where confederate prisoners were housed at Fort Warren
Walked through Monument Park in old Yankee Stadium
And touched THE GREEN MONSTER
Lived through a few hurracains in fl
Played slot machines in Atlantic city
Earned 3 college degrees
Viewed the Statue of Liberty in New York
And driven past the Liberty Bell
Walked around old Salem on Halloween
Rode on a fire engine on the forth of July
Seen a hockey game in a baseball stadium
And seen a concert in a football stadium
Saw a deflated spiterman at the Macy day parade
Partied in the Kappa Sigma's fraternity house at the U-Miami
Built snowmen in the winter
And sand castles in the summer
Went apple picking in the fall
Walked through a strawberry field in FL
Picked corn from a cornfield
Swam in both an ocean and a lake
Touched "mother goose's" grave
And Paul Revere's grave
Walked along the freedom trail
And met a surviver of the Holocaust
Stephen Tylor had a conversation with me
And Debby Gibson kissed me
Rocked out at Woodstock 99
Have I mentioned I've been to over 440 baseball games in 18 different major league stadiums?
And saw my favorite band 19 times including opening the NEW Meadowland’s stadium in NJ?
I saw Michael Jordan fly through the air
Wayne Gretzki glide on the ice
Rice catch a pass from Montana
Hulk Hogan bodyslam Marchoman
And Ted Williams drove past me
Isn’t life about happiness?
I may not have a fulltime Job or a beautiful wife
But hey, I have had a pretty nice life so far

*First Boston Red Sox Spring training game of 2011 is Sunday afternoon
(Take me out to the ballgame, Jack Norworth, 1908)
Katie Casey was base ball mad.
Had the fever and had it bad;
Just to root for the home town crew,
Ev'ry sou Katie blew.
On a Saturday, her young beau
Called to see if she'd like to go,
To see a show but Miss Kate said,
"No, I'll tell you what you can do."
"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game."
*Going to FOXWOODS Cosino with my family for a night.
(The Gambler, Kenny Rogers)
On a warm summer's evening, on a train bound for no where
I met up with the gambler, we were both too tired to sleep.
So we took turns staring, at the window after darkness
boredom overtook us, and he began to speak
You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your money when you're sitting at the table.
There'll be time enough for counting when the dealin's done.
*Going to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant (did you think anything else?) at the cosino with my family. Hopefully my sister and her gf make it.
(Holiday, Madonna)
If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice
Everybody spread the word
We're gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It's time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday
*going to New York City on my birthday
(New York State of Mind, Billy Joel)
Some folks like to get away
Take a holiday from the neighbourhood
Hop a flight to Miami Beach
Or to Hollywood
But I'm taking a Greyhound
On the Hudson River Line
I'm in a New York state of mind
*woo it’s my twin brother’s birthday!
(Just older, Bon Jovi)
Well, I look in the mirror
I don't hate what I see
There's a few more lines staring back at me
Now the nights has grown a little colder
Hey man, I gotta run
Now you take care
If you see coach T. Tell him I've cut my hair
I've kept my faith
I still believe I'm just...Ha!
I like the bed I'm sleeping in
It's just like me, it's broken in
It's not old - just older
Like a favorite pair of torn blue jeans
This skin I'm in it's alright with me
It's not old - just older
*going to a fancy French Restaurant for dinner with my cousin Hayley, my uncle Joe and his real nephew, Richard along with Justin and Lindsay
(Hunger strikes, Temple of Dog)
I don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence
But I can't feed on the powerless when my cup's already overfilled
But it's on the table
The fire is cooking and they're farming babies, while the slaves are working
The blood is on the table and their mouths are chocking
But I'm growing hungry
*I’m sure I’m going to have a yummy dessert with a candle
(wish list, Pearl Jam)
I wish I was the souvenir you kept your house key on
I wish I was the pedal brake that you depended on
I wish I was the verb 'to trust' and never let you down
I wish I was a radio song, the one that you turned up
*Justin, Lindsay and myself are taking a cab to the Madison square Garden to see a charity tennis match between Andre Agassi and Pete Samprez
(Mr. Cab Driver, Lenny Cravis)
Mr. Cab Driver won't you stop to let me in
Mr. Cab Driver don't you like my kind of skin
Mr. Cab Driver you're never gonna win
*Next morning, Justin Lindsay and I are driving back to Boston
(This side of paradise, Bryan adams)
I’m riding in the back seat, nine years old
Staring out the window, counting the highway poles
And then I get to thinking , that it don’t seem real
I’m flying through the universe in a 69 oldsmobile
And I wanna know what they’re not telling
And I don’t wanna hear no lies
I just want something to believe in
Ah, it’s a lonely lonely road I’m on
This side of paradise
*OMG! I’m going to see Bon Jovi Tuesday night with Lindsay and her friend at the Boston Gardin!
(Allstar, Smash mouth)
So much to do so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow
Hey now you're an All Star get your game on, go play
Hey now you're a Rock Star get the show on get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
*Seeing Bon Jovi for the 20th time and you’re going to hear my voice when I sing it out loud!
(it’s my life, Bon Jovi)
This ain't a song for the brokenhearted
No silent prayer for the faith departed
And I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice when I shout it out loud
It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said, "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life
*Home from my awesome extended birthday party
(who says you cant go home, Bon Jovi)
Who says you can't go home
There's only one place they call me one of their own
Just a hometown boy, born a rolling stone, who says you can't go home
Who says you can't go back, been all around the world and as a matter of fact
There's only one place left I want to go, who says you can't go home
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright, it's alright, its alright |
