Baseball milestones and a poem

Everyone knows what a passionate and loyal baseball fan I am.
I was excited and proud of a few things on this night when it comes to baseball.

Some people know my hero is the Great Nolan Ryan but very few know who was and still is, my favorite player after him.
Ivan Pudge Rodriguez was anointed my "next favorite player" before Ryan even retired. I liked him because while everyone likes powerful home run hitters, I appriciate all facits of the game of baseball. When I watched Ivan Rodriguez throw out runners who try to steel, from his knees, I was just in awe that someone could do that.

His career started on June 20th, 1991 and on June 17th, almost 18 years to the day, Ivan Rodriguez would break a record of his hero, that no one thought could be broken. Around 10pm, EST, the game between the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers, the team he started his career with, became an official game as 5 innings were completed.

Ivan Pudge Rodriguez, caught his 2227th game in his major league career, passing the great Carlton Fisk for the most games played as a catcher.

I’m very pleased,” Rodriguez said. “It’s an unbelievable record to tie Carlton Fisk. I respect him a lot. To be able to get to his mark is an honor for me. I just tried to follow his steps and keep myself in good shape. Look at where I’m at to tie him and to be able to break it and establish a new record.”

“It was nice to see that and hear that from the fans,” Rodriguez said. “Fans always respect me a lot, and I respect them a lot. I said that before the game. These fans are right there, and they’re very faithful.”

I went down town to try to figure it out
I had no where else to turn, my self esteem was full of doubt
I know it is not logical

The light was dim, I could barely make out her face

Ms. Sweeten greeted me with a soft smile
My palms started sweating as I felt like I was on trial
With a soft voice, she asked me a question
She had a beautiful sound that excited me with an erection
She pulled out a card and read to me
February 28th makes you a Pisces

I keenly listened and nodded my head
I agree with everything she had said
But question still remain
