basketball game, bloop stuff, Karen

04/27/2013

as I arrowed down to get to this edit box I saw today's date and I just want to mention, although my birthday is February 28th, it was this day 35 years ago, I came home from the hospital. I had something wrong with my heart and I was in the hospital for 2 months while my twin was home.

Last night was my first basketball game I attended for the 2012-13 season. The knicks played the celtics. My favorite player, who no matter what team he has played for, no matter if he only plays once in boston a year or more, I have seen Jayson Kidd play in Boston every year of his 18 year career.

It was a trip to get to the game.
my friend Zac, who is a huge C's fan, like I am with the Red Sox really wanted to go to the game and we were planning on it till Thursday evening about 6 when he agreed to drive his grand parents to NJ for a funeral of a family member. (well, their daughter's husband's father) So we rescheduled cause they would play on Sunday anyways vs the Knicks so I had no problem with putting it off.

Friday night, 7pm I get a call, it's Zac, what are you doing? I told him that I was watching the NFL draft, why what's up? he asked me if I want to go to the C's game tonight. (the game starts at 8pm) I waslike...umm sure? he goes he's about half hr away, if you can have someone drop you off at my grand parents house, we will go to the game from there... At 7:39 he pulls up to the house and he ran in the house, printing out the tickets and we were on our way to the Boston Garden. I asked him where are we going to park? we'll be late so all the parking will be filled up. He said that he's lucky and not to worry. So worry I didnt.
We got to the garrage of the arenia and it said filled. Zac asked if there was handicap parking and there was on the 3rd floor. we went up, parked and was on our way in... there was a line of a few hundred to get in even though it was just after 8pm. Zac went up to a security guard asked him where the Handicap line is. The guard pointed us in the direction of the elevator... we took the elevator up to the arena level and once again, Zac asked about a disability line, we were pointed to a roped off line where there was nobody. mean while, there was thousins of people in line as we just walked past them. we got wanned through security and went in, and some how, some way, we had only missed 3 minutes of the game. Unfortunately, the celtics were already down, by 6.

We had amazing seats. I hate to know what he paid for them. He wouldnt tell me. When you walk in and you can eiither go down the stairs to get to the court or up, we went up 5 rows and that's where our seats were. amazing.

Although I brought a radeo, Zac gave me play-by-play and it worked out a lot better, that 5 second delay is a lot in basketball.

He asked if I was hungry, I said I was waiting for him to say something. We went down, got some chicken fingers and fries. I had buffalow sauce on mine. mmm and he knew the guy at the food stand we went to, so the guy gave him a double order of fingers.
They gave out Celtics B strong t shirts.. right before you got on the escalator to go up but since we took the elevator, we didnt get one. We went to the service desk and explained the situation so we each got one of those.

The Celtics sucked. No way around it. if not for bad luck, there would be none. In the 4th quarter, with 5 mins to go, the celtics were down by 20, Zac goes "I cant stand this anymore, let's go. I said ok. got up and walked out.
The final score ended up being ny 90 bos 76.
But I got to see Jayson Kidd.

We met up with some friends of his family after the game at a chinese restaurant that is a hop-skip and jump away from my house.
His mother also joined us. I felt like a tag-a-long...cause I was. I sat there for most of the time and listened to a bunch of girls singing along withe band they have there on Saturday nights. it was fun... not that I couldnt hear anyone at my table, and when I could hear, I wasnt partof the convo. Zac's mom tried to talk to me, but it was too loud, I kept say "what" or "sorry" But we did convert.

I felt bad, I had no idea what time it was and Karen called meaning it was after midnight.
So we chatted for about 30 seconds. She couldnt hear me well.
Zac drove me home and he thanked me for going, I thanked him for taking me.

he is good company.

BLOOP STUFF

I'll admit, I'm a horder on bloop. On my favs, I have people still there who hasnt written in years. I am finally going to delete them. funny thing, I have them on FB now anyways but I think it stinks that people abandon bloop for FB when they are not the same at all. I am thankful for you who do read-comment my entries...thank you

I still wish I could dl my diary to my computer. I dont know how. I tried to one but it didnt work.

Karen Karen Karen

I was on the phone Wednesday night with Karen and She was talking about her friend Nick. Telling me how she is going to send him a package with boxing gloves coming out of a box making a "boing!" sound when ever it comes out. it is like the ones you see on cartoons. She told me the history of her and him with boxing gloves, and she was laughing about it, I was laughing along...on the outside. She told me that she was going to send something else in the box too, something sheep related. When she was done telling all this she goes "you got quiet" I said I was just listening to what you were saying. she goes no, you got quiet, what's wrong? how do you know something's wrong? Jonathan, I can feel it. whats wrong? I said what do you think it is? She goes, I dont know. I said I am sure you do. She goes You are jealous of nick. I said see? you do know. She goes, you have nothing to be jealous about. I said I was sorry but I feel jealous. She asked what she can do to make me not jealous I said I didnt know. She goes "Jonathan, I love you very much" I paused, I was stop in my thoughts. She goes You are grinning. I said, where are you? how can you see my face? (in a joking tone) she goes I just know. and I was grinning. I told her, that I know you dont know this but of course I know, I keep track. that was only the 5th time you have said I love you to me. she goes no it's not. I said yes, with out me saying it first? she giggled and said you just dont remember old man. that silly talk went on for a min and eventually she said good night and I told her that I love you too good night.

Thursday night
Silly, Karen and I were just being silly.

I dont remember how the conversation started but we talked about donuts. hmm she said she wanted a bagel. I said cant you just go to a Dunken Donuts and get one? she said they dont have D&D where she is. just Krispy Kremes and they dont have bagels and they close at 10PM. I told her that I didnt like Krispy Kremes. She goes "this isnt going to work, this is not going to work then Jonathan." I said, I'm not the only one around here who doesnt like it. We had a Krispy Kremes here about 10 yearws ago and it only lasted maybe 6 months" She continued..."If you dont like Krispy Kreme donuts, the hot off the oven yummy donuts from krispy kremes than this is not going to worout. I dont mind you are blind. I dont mind you are Jewish, but if you dont like Krispy Kremes, it wont work out. I said "you can convert me" we both ROFL'ing at that one. I told her that I would buy her a Krispy Kreme shop and we can make it 24 hrs. she loved that idea.

(I think some people would freak out if I did this to them...)
I told her that I was looking at zipcodes for Indianapolis and I said there is like 5 of them? Boston has one, does that mean that Indianapolis is 5 times as big as Boston? she told me how there are town around the city who call themselves parts of Indianapolis but they'e really not. She went into details about the various towns and they names and the directions compared to Indianapolis.
She never asked me why I looked up the zipcode...lol

the other thing she had fun with, She has a nac for remembering people's middle name. and again I dont remember how this convo stated lol. She asked me if I remembered her middle name. I thought about it. I through out a few names but none were correcct. She was like you want me to give you a hint? I said no. she talked about middle names in her family and eventually she came back to her middle name and askedme again. she said can I give you a hint? I said sure. she said it started with G. I was like... Geia? it was the first name I could come up with.
