Christmas and beyond

12/26/2010

I hope everyone has a very merry christmas.

I went with my best friend John to his in laws. There is John and Kat and their son Holden. There is John's mother, Pat and her husband Ray. There is kat's parents, Paul and Sue. Kat's sister Kristin and her bf Rich. Then there is ME.

John picked me up about 3;30 and we got to Paul-Sue's about 40 ish. A bunch of small talk and Holden playing with legos with Ray. Then Holden came over to me and grabbed my hand and lead me to the table and said "down" and so I sat down. Then he would give me the legos and I would build a house. It was so cute.

We had dinner about 5. I am a very picky eater but no problem this time. They had ravs, which I dont eat but they had regular pasta too. So I had some pasta, meatballs and a sausage. Oh, and of course a salad.

After they cleaned up, we went in to open presents. Kris was incharge of handing out the gifts. (she is high mantaments and is very talkative and I guess she even talkswith her hands...) First was the stockens. They way they do stockens, Everyone has stockens with their name on it and everyone would put somethig little in it. It was very nice. Paul and Sue got a lot of hand and feet cream and there was some ... almost perverted comments haha. Paul says "I can use this for" and pauses for a long second before he says "hands" Kat goes "dad! I hope you werent thinking of using it for something else" we all laughed.

Then presents after presents. I think each person got at least 10 gifts. They all got presents from each other and some from other family members that werent there such as John's sister and her family who are in tx and Kat's brother who lives in Chicago with his family. Holden was sleeping for most of the present opening.

Kat is absolutely spoiled. welll, they all spend a lot of money on each other but John defanately spoils Kat. She got easily 1000 dollars worth of stuff. I know she got Ugs boots and a jacket that regularally price would be about 400 dollars. But John had a discount and his mother has a coupon.
When Kat opened the box with the jacket she said "I feel like an ass. I yelled at John how I didnt get the the jacket. I went into the store and tried it on twice for him." She also got some shirts for work, a cd and some other little things from John.

Not only did everyone get gifts from each other, they also got gifts from "santa" and "frosty"

I had bought Kat a "stonewall" "breakfast" pack. I dont remember what it came with but my mom always gets stonewall jellies and she thought that it would be a nice set for Kat. I had gave John his gift for Chanukah when I gave Justin and Lindsay theirs because I had bought them all tickets to the Mighty mighty Bosstone's concert that is supose to be tonight in Boston but with the blizzard coming, I'm not sure what they are going to do. I also got Holden two big toys.

I got a gift card to my favorite restaurant for 40 dollars. I will take them out and with me and that will clear the card.

Then holden was in the spot light when he woke up. He had gifts and gifts and oh, if that wasnt enough, he got gifts. He got somewhere between 20 and 30 gifts and he also got some Christmas eve and some Christmas morning. This kid is not spoiled. He got a ride on Jeep. A motercycle -bike that he can either sit on and walk or put his feet on the peddles.but either way, it's thick, so he cant tip over. It's good for a 2+ year old. He got legos, cars, a carrying case for the cars, he got trucks, and books and more cars, he got videos and cars and trains and cars. He got a little kid's computer and another computer thing where you can put music in via MP3's. Did I mention he got cars? I think he got about 100 cars. He also got some clothes and from great aunts-uncles he got some bonds.

We moved back to the kitchen for dessert. (before I sat down, i had to stand for a bit so I stood behind my chair and when Kris was sliding behind me to get to her chair, she grabbed squeezed my ass) They had cookies, a lemon cake, a chocolate cake, a pumpkin cheese cake and other things I dont remember. I had a slice of the lemon cake and a chocolate chip cookie.

Kristin said she got chocolate covered strawberries. (Chocolate covered strawberries is my baseball of food, it's my bon jovi of food, comprende?) When she said that, I made a gasp of surprise sound. then said "I want one. Kris said "they're mine" I "i want one" She "you cant have one, they're mine" Paul "Yes he can" he takes one and puts it on my dish. she whined. I made sure when I ate it, I looked right at her.

At some point music came up and Paul asked me who I like. I told him my favorite is Bon Jovi. I know Kris likes country but she had mentioned that she saw Bon Jovi last year. hmmm

There was also chatter about going to Red Sox games. I had mentioned how I already have 12 games and told Ray that I would take them and. Kris mentioned how she wants to go to the game next year on 4-20-20-12 as it will be the 100th b day for fenway park. I told her that I want to go too and I will pay anything to be there for that game.

After dessert it was time to clean up, separate and distribute gifts. Which of Holden's gifts goes to Their house, which goes to Pat's house and which stays at Paul's house. Once they did that, they brought the gifts out to the car and I went to the bathroom then John, (who is not one for hugs) ppushed me out and to the car. I didnt get to give a proper bye. It was more of people opening the car door to say bye to Holden and said bye to me. (Ok, I wanted to hug kristen..)

There is much talk in my family about what everyone doing for new years. My twin is going to his in laws, my parents are going out with their friends my sister is going with her gf and other friends and me? hmm right now I'll be sitting on the couch of my den by myself. Anyone want to join me?

Hm, I guess you are used to the cold then! (of course you are, you grew up in it) It's 25 degrees here and when I left work I had on two shirts, a sweater, a jacket, a headband thingy that covers my ears, a scarf and the hoods up on my sweater and jacket. I'm ready for summer time for sure. And that's saying something cause I used to be able to go out in the winter time with shorts and flip flops on and it wouldn't faze me. Sigh. I guess I'm getting cold blooded in my old age.

Now every time I hear about Boston/New England I think of you cause you are now 1 of 2 people I know that live there.
