Do you believe in carma?

11/14/2009

Hi people. It is about 5 AM on Saturday morning. I went to sleep about midnight and woke up from a nightmare at about 2;20. ug. hmm I wonder if that was Jayson in my dream? hmm naaa, could not be. The guy who wanted to kill me in my dreams could talk. But it was freddy who kills people in dreams anyways. It was a bit strange as the last place (it was a long dream with many places) I was at before I woke was in my "old" house that we moved from 26 years ago.

So Tuesday, if people remember, or if you never read my last entry, I had sent a b day card to each of my twin nieces with a $15 gift card in each for Toys R US. They had called me and left me a wicked cute message on my voice mail.

The next day I went to a casino, won 120 dollars and when I got home, there was an email from my dad saying that a friend of his wanted to give me a pair of his basketball tickets for free and I could pick out a game from a list of them. I thought that was good carma.
You give and you get

I got an email from a local restaurant that I have been going to since I was in my single digets.I subscribe to their emailing list. They are always doing fund raisers for various groups. Last year my sister had a fund raiser there for her football team and they upfront told her they would give her either 300 dollars or 10 percent of the total gross income for that evening. They had cut a check for the football team for over 1000 dollars. That place was packed all night but they were not expecting that much.

So in the email I had got, they were doing a fund raiser for the town's YMCA. You buy a ticket for a drawing. The cost of the ticket was a bit steep, $100, but it goes to a nice cause.
Now, if I am the winning ticket holder, I will recieve this entire sports package: 2 seats to a redsox game, 2 tickets to a Bruins game 2 tickets to a celtics game and 2 tickets to a patriots game. The drawing is sunday night.

Win or lose, I feel good about donating a lot of money coming from this guy who is only working 4 hours a week.

When I woke from the nightmare, I got up to use the bathroom. I heard my mom say "hi" so I went into the spare bedroom, which is also her computer room, and told her about the night with my father and his best friend. She told me about her night.
(now, earlier on Friday, she told me about a letter I had got a few months ago, that said that SSI made a mistake and has not been giving me the correct amount for a while and there would be a follow up letter to inform me of the exact amount. Well that letter had came yesterday and my mom told me the story but we were up stairs having lunch, so and the follow up letter was already down stairs in her computer room. I told her that she can read it to me later...)

"iiiittttssss later!" (Fullhouse, Stephanie Tanner, epasode 1)

I asked my mom if she had the letter right there. She said, "somewhere, but I can just look in your account to see if the money is there." so she did.

When she told me how much money was in my account, ... let's say it could probably buy me a season ticket for my redsox in the cheep bleacher seats.

So? Carma for donating 100 dollars for a worthy cause?

You give and you get

*other notes
My novel is up to 16400 words. Unfortunately, I am far behind the average per a day to finish on time with the minamul 50,000 words to win the contest.

I was in the middle of writing a poem about a unicorn when I started my novel. When I get back to finishing the poem, I will post it.

I posted my spare Bon Jovi tickets for NJ on Thursday, May 27th, 2010, on craigslist. Hopefully I'll get a buyer.

Have I told you that I love the new Bon Jovi albumb?
I have only listened to it, (listening to it right now) for the 11 time through, since Tuesday morning.

(I know some of you enjoy reading about my work and what I do)
I had a very good day at work on Thursday. My former boss was suppose to come by to do satisfaction surveys with the clients. She called while I was there saying she could not make it. I had nothing prepared. I was just going to help her out. I had to quickly think of a topic to do.
I asked them to each tell me one thing they liked and one thing they did not like about the program-house. And they did and did well.

My coworker was a huge help. We as a team, (well, mostly me) talked about how this is just a step to being independant. I brought up not only being able to do cooking, cleaning and laundry independantly, but making a shopping list and having the money to go shopping. Being able to figure out bills and how much money one can spend per a month. Constantly saying how we are only a step and we want "you" to be independant as much as "you" want to be. So let either my coworker or myself know what we can help you do to become more independant. My coworker then brought up how there will always be someone who comes in, it maybe once a day, once a week, what ever the case maybe, to check up on you and make sure you are doing well. Make sure your apartment is clean. Make sure your buying food for yourself and not just junk food. Making sure you are taking your medicine. etc.
I add in, and if you dont keep up, you will be brought back to a group home. So it is up to you guys on what you want to do. My coworker and I are just here to help you and guide you to becoming independant.

Oh karma. I don't really know how much it exists because as a sociologist im constantly trying to find patterns in behavior...and it just ever seem to really work. I may pray, but then my week turns out to be awful. Or I may donate a couple thousand pounds of food, but then get rejected by a guy. Y'know? I think that's just life.

I totally and completely believe in Karma. You do get what you give, but sometimes you don't know what you will get in return. As your first noter says, she may donate a couple thousand pounds of food, but then get rejected by a guy - but that may not be the return for donating that food. It could be the return for that is getting a free gas card or something else. You never know what you will get when you give, but if you give positive you'll get positive and if you give negative then you'll get negative. The universe balances itself out.

Wow! I wish I could have unexpected money! lol

I've only gotten 4000 some words. I'm stuck. I might start a different story entirely. Blah.

$120 from the casino? Dude...can you rub some of that luck off on me tomorrow? We are supposed to go to the casino...I'm hoping to win a significant amount for once, rather than give it all to the casino. I figure I've donated enough money to them, they can give it back as a birthday present.

I started NaNoWriMo this year but I completely crashed and failed it, I think. It was my first time and I really had no idea what I was doing and my brain tends to block a lot...I don't really know how to get rid of those writing blocks. Good luck with your novel though!!

What do you do for work?
