Hi people, and happy new year.
I am in the process of writing a "2010 year in review" entry but it is taking a bit longer than I thought it would.
My new years was alright. I went with my my twin Justin and his wife Lindsay to her cousin's house. We got there about 6pm. For the first 3 hours we just sat around doing nothing while others just chat. Then someone pulled out a deck of cards and first 3 people played this game called "Jack hi-low" It was quite entertaining. Some different people got in on the game and others moved around. About 10;30 Lindsay and two others played trivia persuit. I moved ove to listen and try to help a drunk Lindsay out but she had answered questions before I could help her. I yelled at her for one response. the question was... "on what team did babe ruth win 3 world series game in the same year?" she said the yankee! ug! it was red sox! and I was even wearing a red sox shirt, and I went to go point at my shirt but she had already gave her answer. Another q she got that she answered too quick. "in what sport would you find a "sky hook" a "finger roll" and a cross over" she said gymnastics.
However, she did pull some correct answers from the sky. She was down 4 slices to 1 but ended up coming back to tie it and everyone actually had 5 slices but the one who was leading, won. That ended about 11;45. So first they passed around the hats. no noise makers, I was a bit disapointed.
Lindsay's cousin Lue, handed me a bottle of shampain about 5 minutes before midnight. I got the bottle ready to be popped.
we started counting down at 20 19 18... 5 4 3 2 1 HAPPY NEW YEARS!
I popped the cork and took a big swig of the bottle. mmm
Justin said "that wasnt all for you?" I said, well, Lue said it was. "it wasnt. it is now though" So I prob ended up drinking 3-4th of the bottle. I called my parents to wish them a happy new year. My parents were playing blackjack at one of their friends houses. Lindsay's brother Nick called and we passed around the phone. By 12;30 we were saying our good byes and headed back to their house.
I didnt sleep. I got about an hour of sleep which totally screwed me up.
My dad picked me up and we headed to RI for a couple of hours to play the slots. I didnt do too bad. in 4 hours I won about 10 bucks. On the way back home we stopped at a chinese restaurant and it was packed. We got a dinner to go for my mom. I tried to stay up as long as I could, which was about 12;30 and I took an tilenal PM and slept till almost 8AM. but the part that sucked, I woke up tired.
PARTY TIME!
My sister's b day is dec 31 and we selebrated it today. We ended up having about 25 people. My mom made more food than I dont know what.
Breakfast food we had…
Bagles, Turkey bacon and regular bacon, sausages, homefries, scrambled eggs, cut up fruit, French toast and that’s all that I know about.
Lunch food we had:
Calzone, chicken broccoli and ziti, pesto and bowties, schrimp garlic and pasta dish, and cut up veggies.
And again, that was all that I knew about
Dessert
Date and nut bread, frozen dough, some little jewish pastery that I cant think of, there was a jelly cookie thingy, and there was a chocolate birthday cake
We all sang happy birthday.
… did I mention that this party was centered around the Patriots game? Lol.
About 9 of us not planned, were wearing our Patriots jerseys. We watched the game on both the kitchen (where I was with the old folks) and down in the den where my sister and her loud friends were. The cake was done during the half time. When the game was over, the party broke up. I went to my room and took a 2.5 hour nap and here I am writing this and following the Sunday night football game for the NFCW title between stl and Sea.
