I didnt disown you bloop, much to share

12/30/2011

*hugs bloop* sorry bloop. I just, I just havent felt like writing. I hope you forgive me.

So much has been going on around me but yet I stand still.

My cousin Jalen's Bar Mitzvah.

I was so excited for it, I got like 3 hours of sleep. I got all dressed up in my suit and was off with my family to the temple. Since I was family and had a part in the bar mitzvah, I got to sit in the second row.

There is this prayer said 8 times by 8 different people, once for each section that is read from the torah. The prayer is called an Aleah. But what I didnt know was, I was doing the prayers with my twin. Basicly I lead and he kinda went along with me. Good thing I memorized the blessings. There are two of them. One before the Bar mitzvah man reads the scetion and a blessing after he reads the section.

Let me back up a little bit and explain what a bar mitzvah is and what it is for.

In the Jewish religion, when a boy turns 13 and a girl turns 12, they are considered adults. Part of being an adult, is having responsibilities. One responsibility is being able to get up in front of the congregation of the temple and led the survice by reading that day's passage from the torah whish, of course, is in Hebrew. Making this task even more dificult, The Torah is written with no vowels. If that wasnt dificult enough, you have to chant it.

The Bar Mitzvah person also has prayers to say before-after the reading of that day's passage as well.

However, my cousin did something that I never saw anyone else do. He was asked to lead the morning prayers, telling the congragation what page to go to (I'm sure he had a cheet cheat for that) and the Rabi explained (which I didnt have to do) explain to the congragation what the passage was and then what his opinions-thoughts were on it and he did all that exceptionally well.

After the bar Mitzvah we went to the hall in the temple and usually someone donates money for everyone to have like a little brunch. Usually it is a family member. My parents paid for it in honor of my cousin.

Then we all went home and relaxed. I took a nap. Then at night, we went back to the temple for the reseption. PARTY TIME!

There was a DJ, who was great with the kids, playing various games and giving away prizes. We had a very nice dinner... during the happy hour they had people walking around with apatizers. (I made sure to fill up on those because I didnt like the dinner) hmm what else did my cousin have. There was a candy bar I guess you would call it. There was a charactorist. Someone who would draw you as a cartoon caractor I guess. The party started at 6 and didnt get over till 11;30. we just partied and partied and partied. There was a Red Sox theme. I dont remember everything they had but there was giant baloons with a letter on each spelling out hmm I dont remember lol, sorry. It was fun for the most part. I got up and danced a bit, no where near what I would like have. I rather be up dancing than sitting at my table doing nothing but thinking of things to ocuppy my mind.

We also took family pictures.
A really funny moment... later in the night, the photographer came over to my table, where it was me, my twin justin and his wife, my sister and her fiancee and my older brother then hmm to make this simple, two sisters who are cousins, one just graduated college and the other one is still in college and the one who graduated, her boyfriend. so that's the table.
And the photographer wanted to take a pic of everyone at the table, So he came over and asked if everyone is here. cousin said her bf wasnt here but he would be right back. My older brother goes "that's ok, in 5 years, he'll just be that guy in the picture anyways"

Another funny moment... I was in line to get my drawing, a lady who I'm pretty friendly with and if I'd admit it, I have a crush on, she's a good friend of the Bar mitzvah cousin's mother. Anywho, she's 40 and she was in line with her 20 year old son. She was saying that hopefully the guy doesnt draw her stomach. I said "you are sexy and you know it" she goes "well ya, but this dress doesnt make me look too flattering. I was going to wear another one but D told me it didnt look good on me." her 20 year old son goes "ya, it made my mom look like a slut, it was too short on both sides" meaning too short on the legs and showing too much on the top)

A good time was had by all

The next morning my mom had a brunch for my NJ cousins before they had to go back and she invited some others. That was nice.

CHANUKAH!

that Tuesday night started the Jewish holiday of Chanukah. Chanukah is a holiday to remind us of the mirricle of light. When our temples were destroyed and we had only a little bit of oil to last for one night... and that little bit of oil, lasted for 8 nights and 8 days. So we selebrate the mirricle of light.

So that friday night, my mom had the anual family chanukah party. We had 38 people over the house. It was really fun just hanging out and having all those family and family friends selebrating with us. We ate, we lit candles we exchanged gifts...and had our Redsox swap. (you know, a yankee swap but the word yankee is not allowed in my house lol) it was a good night.

hmm what did I get for Chanukah

I got everything I asked for... and then some.

3 cds, (REM, nirvana, RedHotchillypeppers)
some red sox shirts. A "adult" jacket ...because according to my mom, I dont have any adult jackets. hmm a old spice kit and even though it wasnt exactly what I wanted and my parents are ordering the right thing, wireless headphones. I also got my anual subscription to XM. yay. I love my xm radeo.

hmm that's all I can think of.

I am going to do a year in review entry at some point.
I need to reflect on this very traumatic year for me. I'm sure I will think of some good moments but the traumatic horrifying moments will be x'ed for life. Especially 1-20-2011 RIP Stephanie

May you all have a happy, healthy and fun New years... bring on 2012!
