Hi people. except for us having a "alf" like visiter, yesterday being the baseball trading deadline and next week I'm going to Ohio-pensilvania, not much going on so I figured I would be a follower and do this "letter a day" thing correctly. I actually did it a few entries ago, but I did it as a survey.
Letter 1.
A letter to the friend you have known the longest or you are closest to.
Hey, what's up John.
If you knew I was writing this you would punch my arm and call me a "fucking girl" but eh, that's alright.
We have been friends for 23 years now. We have been through a lot over those years and we have shared a lot. If I were to write everything we've been through, it would end up being a novel.
I am blessed to have an amazing and loyal friend as you are and I still can't understand why you have stuck by my side even when our interests have become extremely different, we hang out with different crouds and you got married to a beautiful smart woman who gave birth to your son which leads to us having total life style differences.
Some of the moments that I will always remember.
* Playing Nintendo at my house and playing with wrestlers at your house.
* You telling me that you were moving to "Wimbledon" when you meant Wilmington.
Everyone made fun of you about that. But to us, it was like you were moving to another state when it was only 14 miles away. This world is so big when you're so little.
* When you told me that you were going to bike from your house to mine (14 miles) in the poring rain. at the age of what? 13?
You were fucking crazy and you know it and I have NO idea why you did it except that you had missed my house, my family and me.
* When your mom took us to see some wrestling event at a high school or somewhere and you convinced me to follow you to explore the building and we somehow found our way to the raftors. ... and Coco B ware was wrestling that night.
* A baseball game from the exclusive "600 club" seats that my dad got tickets from his attorney who had season tickets up there.
* the first time you fooled around with a girl. It was at some one's party who had a jacuzy.
* I took your beautiful and playful sister to my sr prom
* You are the only one stupid enough to let this blind guy drive a bran new car. Granted, it was in a basketball court in the back of a middle school, still.
* When I had sex for the first time, I called you about 3 AM and you went from sleeping to wide awake when you heard that news and you wanted all the jucy details.
*When you told me that you were only going to apply to one college... the college that I would be a senior at. So you followed me to college.
* when I met Kathren for the first time.
* you walked-guided me when I graduated from college, grad school and advance grad school.
* I was your best man at your wedding.
I never saw you so nurvice as when we were in the waiting room to the wedding and it was just you and I. You tried to make jokes but that was to calm yourself. I dont think it worked.
And I put together the best bachelor party catered towards you and you know it.
(renting a minny van and two of your friends "kidnapping" you and tying you up in duck take so you couldnt move your legs or arms and couldnt see. We went to a chinese restaurant then from the restaurant we were on the way to "F1" a place to race cars around a track at really high speeds. and lastly, to my father's club so everyone could just chill out, drink as much as they wanted and so you could smoke cigars and just be with your friends... till 2AM.
* being the second person you called when your son was born.
*And all the other sporting events you went to with me even though the last 10 or so years you stopped caring about sports, when I needed someone to go to a game, you'd be there.
* the few concerts we have gone to, together, because we like totally different music.
* When we went down to WBCN station because they said the first person to come down to the station who was blind and could prove it, would get tickets to the radeo station's concert. that was a blast... the concert was pretty cool too.
*always being there to describe me the latest girl who I find on a dating site.
* all the nights you would call me up, before and since you got married, to ask if I wanted to go out for Chinese food.
And so, so much more we have done and so much more we will do in our life together.
