If you were going to move, either within your state (and what state is that) or to a different state (which?), what things would you consider when moving?
if people will let me, and I get a few different answers, I'll post your answers anonymously
Id move to Seattle. I'd think about how much I have in my bank account, the job market, how long I can afford to live out there before i'd NEED a job, the different jewish communities out there, school systems and public transportation.
I live in Illinois. My best friend wants me to move to Kentucky to be closer to her, but I have a lot to consider because I have a special needs child. I have to consider things such as doctors, specialists, children's hospitals..then I would have to have a job, being a single parent. I would have to consider the cost of housing, the cost of moving, they school systems, what sort of programs they have for special needs children. I think my particular case is much more involved then the average person.
- Job: do I have one to go to, or do I have enough money to cover me until I find something
- Possessions: how much do I really need to take. How much can I purchase there. When I moved interstate the first time I took a car load. When I moved the second time, I reduced to a trailer load.
- Transport: I didn't drive when I first moved, so I made sure I moved somewhere with a good transport system.
RYN: Not a worry! I have moved house about 12 times in 10 years, including 2 of those being interstate. If you have any other q's just ask. There's so much more lol. I forgot to add - utilities and bills and mail redirection.... ensure you're away of what is available for set up, what companies you can use etc. And of course redirect your mail. I'm a shocker for forgetting that lol
Well you know Mitch and I have been house hunting and our stipulations are that it's outside city limits, in a country setting, lots of land so we aren't sitting on our neighbors, good schools, and not too far from our families and work. That and we have to love the house. Haha and we aren't moving out of Ohio..lol
