my only drug is sports and music... hello CANTON OH!

02/11/2010

I'm not sure how long this will be. I dont know what I am going to write in here. I have now 3 poems which I have not posted, and maybe another working from my brain to my finger tips. I dont know. I've just been in a poem-writing-mood.

I understand a lot of my readers (90% +?) are females and when I write about sports, it disinterest a lot of you. I also realize that as much as I love recieving notes, I have to realize that I may not get any readers on this entry as it has to do with sports but it also has to do with life and how much sports and music is who I am.

Growing up in the 80's-early 90's, I became a huge San Francisco 49ers fan. My favorite player was Gerry Rice, a wide reciever for the 49ers. At first I loved watching him play because he was just awesome. As I learned more about who he is and how he got to be the man he is, I embraced him as my favorite player even more. He is a perfectionist. His workout rutine is unmatched by any athlete. Many athletes have adopted parts of his workout regiment but very few are able to take on the entire thing. As I watched him on Monday night football and here-there on highlight, Gerry Rice became my favorite football player. I remember my first football game ever. It was dec 8th, 1992, the 49ers were taking on the new england Patriots. I was so happy when my twin and I went down to the front row as they were warming up and my twin says to me "gerri rice is only 10 feet in front of you." I was like... NO WAY!

After a 20 year career, MR. Rice held most of the recieving records.
Receptions: 1549
TouchDowns: 208
Recieving yards: 22,895
Just to name a few of them.

Some of my readers may recall that the stars alined for me just so perfectly and I was able to be apart of my hero's Hall of Fame Induction enshrinement into the baseball hall of fame in Coorperstown NY on July 25th, 1999.

I was in the thought process stage of planning a trip to DC this summer to see my current favorite player, Pudge Rodriguez, play ball. Then I get an email Wednesday morning.

I've not been sleeping well at all the last so many days, maybe weeks, maybe months, what ever its been, and so I went to sleep about midnight and woke about 3 I got up, checked my email to find an email that said "purchase your 2010 NFL enshrinement tickets now" Unlike baseball, which is out in an open field and you can just walk up off the street to be a part of, the NFL ceremony is held in a stadium so you have to purchase tickets. I opened the email, and read all the different options. I emailed my twin subject" never mind dc, NFL HOF!"email: August 7th, 2010, can we go?
and do not give me money as an excuse. I'll pay your way if need be.
Justin replied and CC'ed to his wife.
Order the tickets now and we can figure out everything else later.
Lindsay, looks like i am going with jonathan to Canton Ohio for a weekend in August.

I felt so high and filled with energy that I was determined to get the tickets. They had a bunch of activities that I would want to do but he wouldnt. So after emailing back-forth a few times, I tried to find how to buy tickets for just the enshrinement and the HOF game the following night. I called information and they have no record of this stadium. I tried googling a zillian different ways to come up with a phone number but could not. I then went back to the origenal email, followed a few links and found a ADA phone number for the enshrinement. I called and got the tickets. I asked the guy if he knew about the game, he said he did, what did I want to know. I asked when tickets go on sale for it, can I call this number back to get tickets for that. he said I could. I thanked the man and then... then I just screamed "I'm going!" and then just screamed a bit and emailed my twin back the info. he replied.
Justin: You move quick. Guess you really did want to go. Well, then it is official, we will be seeing Jerry Rice, Emmitt smith and a bunch of others we grew up
watching get inducted into the hall of fame.
I will start looking at ticket for flights and hotels tonight.

I emailed my best friend that I am going, his response? "Boring"
Should have known he was going to say that. He doesnt care about sports at all. Later I called my college best friend and all he said was "that's nice" How do I, a huge sports fan, end up with two best friends who could careless about sports?

I emailed a friend-former coworker, who has been telling me to be doing spacific things that I dont want to or that doesnt make sent for me to do.

Subject: flying higher than the rainy clouds
Today, I am bullet proof.
My twin and I are going to the NFL HOF induction!
We'll prob either go to a cleveland indians game or the rock N roll HOF on the sunday afternoon as the football game is sunday night.
I have been up since 3;30 with very little sleep  but too excited to worry about sleep or that I have not got a TB test in the last 7 months.
You do not have strong enough kryptonite to make me weak on this day.

ROB: OK shazam.
Say hi to billy batsons up there for me.
Jon: I saw some guy playing a meen guitar, he looked to be about 27 years old.
He said his name was jimmi
ROB: Save some of that shit for me,  I knew you would start taking drugs at some point. To boring without em.
Jon: my only drug is sports and music
Rob: and LSD and marijuana and heroin and alcohol.

I took affence to that, as I have never done drugs. I drink Alcohol from time to time but not to get drunk. I did not reply to his email and just caried on the day, being high on sports and music.
I am going to see Bon Jovi Next week in Seattle. Next month in CT and May in NJ.

So, what do I do about these poems I've been writing?
Post them all at once? one at a time?
I want them to get equal read time and notes from my poetry fans.

Thank you for reading this entry.
Your bloop friend
Jonathan

Oh man, No Metallica plz. Granted "One" is a legendary song... but I think the only songs I'd workout to Metallica are Whiskey in the Jar, and Enter Sandman. Other than that Larz can eat dog shit as I pirate his cds.

჻ೋ჻ My ex loved the 49ers and I had to replace all my Cowboys stuff with 49ers stuff. I still have all the 49ers Christmas gifts I got him before it ended, including 2 really sexy and dirty little lingerie outfits. No one I know like the 49ers. So it kind of sucks haha I have all this stuff and nothing to do with it. ჻ೋ჻
