I got Bon Jovi on and I am sitting in my “office” chair with my feet up on my workout bench and ready to write about the week and who knows what else.
Monday
I went to the training center and got there early to help set up. Carman, my former clinical superviser is the “leader” of my “team” of trainers. The other two are Missy and Diana. I’m like the newbe. I’m just completing my first year of being a trainer and only been a part of the company for 8 years, including 3 years doing internships. Carman is a licensed counselor. Missy and Diaana are directors of houses. One has been the director for 17 years and the other I think she said 10 years.
There was 20 (the max) people taking this “NAPPI” training. One of them was a coworker of mine from the day program we use to work at. I have not seen him since we took a training together last year. I think it was the Epi pen and vidle signs training but it could have been the first aid and CPR training… It was something medicle lol.
The trainers all introduced ourselves then the students? Introduced themselves.
Carman had the first part. I had the second part and I knew this one by heart.
As I explained before, my coworkers read from the training manual at times and if they lost their place they could either glance at the book or at the board to see what comes next. (each part you had to draw-fillout the information for that part on the board so the students get the visual.)
*side note, there are 3 types of learning: visual, auditorial and kinesthetic.
A great teacher would incorporate all 3.

I had to memorize everything. Step by step and word for word. (although I could use my own examples)
So I have to have someone do my drawing-writing for me.

Monday night. I thanked the baseball god for the Red Sox having an off day. I could focus on studying-memorizing and wasn’t distracted by a baseball game. Unfortunately, when it came time to sleep, my body wasn’t having it. I was mostly in the state right before you fall asleep… but my body didn’t go further. About 5AM I got up and took a tillenal PM and even if I was drowsy as I usually am for a half day after taking one of those, it was better than no sleep at all.
TUESDAY!
I had 3 parts on this day.
Making a clear request… This was the part that was new to me. I never taught it before so this is where my memory was forced to fit more info into a crouded place

I then was suppose to physically go around the room asking the students to make a clear request of me but since I was in charge, I verbally asked them to stand up and make a clear request of me. I was turning slightly to face them and except for my friend in the class who purposely screwed up I think, everyone else did a great job.

I had to give my own example. I then gave them a few minutes to write their own examples then asked for some volunteers to give me some of their examples.
Tuesday night
I am on this site for blind people. It has games and you can make profiles and it has a message system and even a phone system too where you can make an audio profile and talk to others and leave other messages.
I was reading female’s profile and I found this one who likes similar movies and similar musics. So I added her MSN then saw her, said hi, eventually we talked on skype.
We were talking, learning about each other beyond the profiles. She was suprized that I had 2 master degrees and said that it must have taken me a long time to get them. I told her that they had not and that I studied hard. She lives by herself with her dog. She doesn’t work and never went to college. She asked about my living status. I said I live with my parents. She goes “that’s sad. You are 33 and you still live with your parents?” (she made me feel really bad.) I said that I am saving for when I get a fulltime job so I can just buy a condo. She said it 2 more times while we were talking that it was sad or pathetic that I live with my parents. I never said that it was pathetic that she doesn’t have any degrees. I would never do that.
I ddont understand why blind people always put down other blind people if they are not as good as themselves in a specific area. I have not met many other blind people but through the internet, I have talked to a lot of them and most of them put me down for something. I don’t get it.
Wednesday
I had no “parts” but tried to put more cents in, unfortunately, there wasn’t much I could add to. I basicly got paid for observing. I got no issues with that lol.
I was disappointed that we didn’t finish with the closing part where everyone goes around and says something they learn which they will use at work and something they didn’t like or something we could improve-change..
But I think because Carman left early and Missy couldn’t be bothered.
Wednesday night “date” night
Stephanie picked me up at 6;30. I had made reservations at PF Changs. I picked this restaurant after learning she is (like my mom) has to eat gluton free. PF changs has a great gluton free menu.
Honestly, it felt like I was talking with a coworker but a coworker who I had nothing in common with. There was moments of awkward silents. I asked her what type of music she likes. She said that she likes …country! She asked me what I like. I told her mostly 80’s like Bon Jovi, Bryan adams, Madonna and REM and then when the grunge era came, nirvana, pearl jam and smashing pumpkins. I also like GNR and blessed union of souls. So… our music taste is totally different. I don’t even recall much of what we talked about.
She wanted to go into the mall which the restaurant was attached to. I didn’t want to but I said I will. We went into a store which engraves items looking for a bracelace which she had bought for a friend and she wants to buy for herself. The people in the store had no idea what she was talking about but called another store and they had 2 left so they were going to hold it for her. We walked to the candle store across the hall but the mall was closing in a few minutes so we left after that store. She drove me home and she did give me a hug but that was that.
Thursday…
I went to work, it was an unusually productive day.
Got some of my clients to agree to do things they had never agreed to before. Wether they actually follow up…
My father picked me up, drove me to meet up with my sister, her fiancée and a friend of the fiancée at Fenway Park.
The starting pitchers were John Lester, Boston’s ace vs Burnet, who was clinging to his place on the team. I was so sure the Red Sox were going to win.
However, the Yankee batters were working Lester, causing him to throw a lot of pitches. He was taken out after only 5 innings because of the number of pitches. Somehow, he had left with the lead of 2-1. The bullpen could not hold the lead and the Red Sox ended up losing .
It was the 699th consecutive sellout at fenway park.

Fenway park was sold out
It was the 700th consecutive sellout at Fenway Park dating back to May 15th, 2003.
Prior to the Red Sox’s historical run, the Cleveland Indians’ had the record at 455 just to put this 700 in perspective.
The next longest active sellout streek is the Philadulphia Phillies at 170
