The gate has closed behind me (Yom Kippur)

Yesterday was the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, the wholiest day of the year. The day of judgement.
We fast away our sins and atone for our sins.
We ask the ONE for a clean slate to start anew for the new year.

However, this year it was a little extra special. My family had two guest join us for the morning portion of the services. I invited a fellow blooper and she excepted. I enjoyed her company and I hope she enjoyed not only mine but that of my family and my caring Synagog's comunity. My family said some VERY nice things about her. The other person was the Masy's guy who worked in the suit department. He's the guy who helped me pick out 2 very nice suits. My mom noticed he was wearing a mazuza, a Jewish charm? that has the ten comandments inscribed on in it and when you are wearing it, the lord is with you. People usually have larger ones on their front door of their house and also in their car. My mom got talking to him and he said that he has not been to temple in many years. His family wasnt too religious but feels as he should go to temple. He didnt know of any around. So my mom invited him to our Yom Kippur service and they both decided to come for the morning services. I was just happy they both joined my family.

The gate of last year has past me.
All that I have done wrong, knowingly and unknowingly, willingly and unwillingly is now behind me.

A new gate of a new year has opened for me and I walk through it.
I hope for a year of new opritunities as well as a year of good health and happiness for my family, my friends and myself.

I am blessed to be surrounded with friends, family and in general, people who care about me and love me for who I am and the person I want to be.
