Karen called me on her way to work today...
K: So I opened your package. I figured you would send me a card.
J: I did send you a card
K: well, ya but I thought you would have sent just a card.
J: just a card and a few other things
K: (giggled) anyways, the package was just sitting there mocking me so I had to open it. I love the sweater. It fits perfectly. It’s a little see-through so I’ll have to wear a shirt under it.
J: I figured you would anyways.
K: mmhhmm.
J: My thought behind it was that every day I was with you, you were wearing a sweater. So I wanted to get you a sweater. I know your favorite color is green so I wanted to get you a green sweater. That would have been easy enough. My mom was showing me different sweaters. She showed me one that had a belt, almost like a big buckle.
K: hmmm (disapproving tone)
J: I know, I was like, no, I don’t like that. My mom was like but it’s nice. I told her I wasn’t looking for nice I was looking for something that is Karen. Then she showed me one that had a big V neck. I was like, no way, that is too big of a V. I don’t think it would go well with her frame. She showed me a few others including some with turtle necks but the neck was so long, you have to fold it down beyond the base of the neck. my mom said that it was the style. I never was one for style. There was one that was green and had things on the front and I liked that one. And those things on the front…
K: The sequences?
J: if that is what they’re called. I thought it looked very artsy so I liked it and figured you would too.
K: well, I love it. But you know, the sweater is blue?
J: it is? My mom said it’s green.
K: it’s a sky blue but I love it.
J: that’s funny cause the tag said it was blue but my mom was comparing it to other shirts and said it was green.
K:apparently your mom is colored blind
(we both laughed)
J: well I’m not going to tell her that. She has enough problems, besides, she’ll disagree with me anyways.
K: I know. (we laughed)
K: I picked up one of the toys and thought that it couldn’t be for me? I squeezed it and it squeeked. As soon as Moagie heard it, she came running in to see what the squeek was. She loves her gift and I love mine. Thank you.
J: you are welcome. Did you figure out what the picture was of?
K: nno, I saw a K but that was all I could figure out. I’ll have to wait till I get home and if I cant figure it out, I will call you.
J: I’ll give you what some of it is but hopefully you’ll figure it out. I so cant wait for your response when you do figure it out.
K: (giggled)
She went on to tell me what she got everyone in her family for Christmas and she hasn’t packed yet and she has to finish wrapping gifts.
I also told her that my mom is going to look into how much it will cost for me to terminate my phone line. If it is not too expensive, I told Karen that I will defanately do it. I told her, I originally told my buddy that I would pay quarterly. He said you are going to prepay? I said ya, why not? …but then I thought last night, if it is only going to cost me $22 a month with taxes, that’s 132 a half of year, I could just send him a check every Jan and July and I would be all set. Karen is really loving this idea. And you know I am too.
About 3pm (10 mins before she called me) I sent her a text that I also sent her a while ago.

So I asked her if she got my text. She said she did and first she sighed and then giggled.
J: I cant wait for the end of the day so you can get home to the picture.
K: well, it will have to wait about 8.5 hrs.
J: I know. You are going to love it when you figure it out. Or at least, I hope you will.
K: oh I’m sure I will.

I feel the same way when it comes to presents sitting around waiting. All of our Christmas presents have been piled in the spare room, otherwise I don't think I could control myself!
