wedding and atlantic city

10/14/2010

Yesterday I wrote about 4 pages worth, saving as I went along. I went to go finish it today and I spent over an hour looking around my computer for the stupid document and I could not find it. So I am sorry, but you will get the short version.

However, I did start a new diary for my poems. I will be posting about 2 a week. The name of that diary is poetry and can be found at bloopdiary.com/jonathanpoems

Friday night: went out for Chinese food and went back to my twin's house because I was leaving with them in the morning. I watched the rest of that night's baseball game and went to sleep. I didnt get much sleep. I had a hard time getting sleep while I was away since it wasnt my bed.

Saturday: We didnt get onto the road till aout 11;30, much later than what Justin was hoping for. They brought their dog Lucic who was amazing in the car for the nearly 7 hour car ride. We stopped for lunch and gas. Got to the hotel at 6pm. We were supose to go to the rehersle dinner but eh, we didnt know there was going to be a big croud so it ended up turning out well. We got to the hotel and got the dog set up then we headed to the Inn where the rehersle dinner was, the wedding and the reseption. I met people who Hayley talked about but I never met. There was about 15 people. They had a special menu for the rehersle dinner. I had cagian stake, Justin Cagian chicken and lindsay had some type of fish. They also had salad, soup, apatizers, sides for the main course and a yummy dessert. We hung around for a little big chatting after dinner but we headed back to our hotel because we were tired plus we had the dog at the hotel.

Sunday: Lindsay still didnt get a dress so she went to a near by mall that had some expensive store that had nice dresses. She did that while Justin and I grabbed lunch at a sports bar. We got back to the hotel and Lindsay showed off her new dress and shows. that both were very expensive and being a guy, I can not comprehend how shoes can cost more than the dress but it did. Justin and I got our suits on and we were off to the wedding.

The wedding was beautiful.
Outdoors, under a tent, on court yard of the groom’s family’s inn. Which, this place was not just an inn. It was like an entertainment palace. I was picturing an old wooden small place with a lobby and 20 rooms. I didn’t know this 1727 inn (oldest continuus running inn in America) also had a restaurant, an outdoor bar area, a waterfall and a large parking lott and I don’t know what else.

I met family from my mom's side I didn't know or didn't know before I met my nj cousin Hayley 16 month ago. I met all the people who she talked about so now I can put a voice and a personality to the name.

They had the coctail hour before the wedding. Which was held in the same room the rehersle dinner was in the night before.

We all slowly made our way to the outdoor court yard which was covered by a nice tent and it was funny, the outside bar was like in the back of the court yard so people brought drinks over to the wedding. The wedding was beautiful. They did all the Jewish stuff: getting married under the hoopah, walking around the groom 7 times, breaking glass... It was very nice.
We then moved on to the reseption that was also outdoors, right behind where the wedding was set up, they had 10 tables plus the head table. They had a 4 piece orchastra playing from the coctail hour till the wedding, didnt play during it, of course, but then played till just after dinner when the DJ took over.

The dinner was fabulous. You had a choice of either stake and lobster tails, chicken, and there was two other choices and they had waitresses come around to take orders. There was also the salad with the yummy dressing. The wedding cake was a carot cake. yum. They also had a dish of italian cookies on each table too. Everything was so good.

At my table was myself, my twin Justin, his wife Lindsay, Amanda's gf Stacey then cousins that I only heard about the last 16 months from Hayley. There is Lisa, who sat next to me, her brother Scott and their ultra orthadoc brother phillup and his wife who is from Isriel. My mom called lisa the crazy one, but she didnt talk too much. She did mention how she is a big Giants and Jets fan. I will have to email her and maybe hang with her some time watching a football game.

If I have people to dance with, I love dancing.
Lindsay asked Justin to dance with her. Justin said no. She asked me and of course I said yes. so I slow danced with my sis in law. My cousin Heidi got me up for a fast song and I stayed up on the dance floor for most of the rest of the time. They had Jewish dances with traditional Jewish songs. We danced the horah. They played "hava nagueelah" "his name is shalome alechhem" and others.
Then was my favorite part of the evening.

When Hayley was making the song list, she put Bon Jovi's "I'll be there for you" for us to dance to. I call her my jersey girl. .
The first string of the guitar I smiled and said "where's Hayley?" she put her chin on my left shoulder from behind and said softly "I'm right here" and we danced, and we sang, and we talked. it was beautiful. I just wish I could see her in her wedding gown. *sad face* Near the end of the song she said "Jonathan I love you" I had a hard time fighting back emotions to say it back to her.

I'm not sure if this is a Jewish thing or not, the dj got the bride and groom to sit in chairs in the middle of the dance floor, then had "strong" guys and girls come to the floor (I'm sure my 5 different state record holder of the strong woman compatition, sister amanda was up there with her girlfriend. Then the people who came to the floor lifted Anthony and Hayley and people (me included) danced around them and sang songs. hmm I think that was when the Jewish dances-songs were played.

Everything was so beautiful.

I think my mom described everything the best when she said the entire wedding day was plane but yet elegant.

The party broke up early and some people continued the party at the bar and Justin, Lindsay and myself went back to the hotel. I was feeling sore from all that dancing. As we were walking back to our car Lindsay said "I know you are going to think I am crazy, but I'm huntry" Justin was being a jerk (in my opinion) he said that it's 9;30 on a Sunday night, there is nothing opened. (Lindsay did have a bottle of wine herself and something else so she was defanately tipsy) Lindsay said how about pizza? Justin said he wasnt hungry. I said I'm not starving but I'll have a few slices. So Justin took Lucic for a walk and to play in the yard while Lindsay called Dominos and ordered us a pizza. I use to not like dominos but I really like the new flavor. I watched baseball and flipped between that and football. The games were over and just like the two previous nights, I was up late on my computer because I could not sleep.

Monday

We had breakfast at the hotel and met up with our parents and saw Amanda, Stacey, Heidi, Hayley and Anthony. We also saw Anthony's parents. My mom and Lindsay walked around the area going in-out of shops. Justin took Lucic for a walk to say hi to the swans and my father and I just sat on the wall. My mom bought a painting at one of the art galory's. Once Lindsay and my mom went in-out of all the shops that were opened we went to go find lunch. We walked up and the streets and most of the places were closed as it was a holiday weekend (I guess that's why) and plus we had Lucic with us so we had to find a place that was dog friendly. We found a place that we could sit outside and was also dog friendly. The food was good. I had a burger and rings. We then said our byes and I was off with my parents.

Then it was onto atlantic city for 2 nights with the parents. I went to a buffet that you would gain 10lbs at. I had salad, baked patato, corn bread, grilled veggies and not one, but two grilled to your liken stakes with peppers and onions from the salad bar then I had an apple pie and then a ice cream Sunday. My mom had freshly carved turkey while both my parents indulged on crab legs. My dad went up 4 times for just crablegs alone. It was 22 dollars a person and my father had a buy one get one free coupon. It was amazing. We ate for over an hour and a half. We had to twist my dad to go because he is not one for buffetts, he likes to be waited on well even he loved it.

I was down till the end. I mean, I had to pass myself by waiting about 30 secs between each play but I did find a couple of machines which I cashed out about 100 to recover some of my money. However my dad, he usually does horrible and half way through finds himself at a bar with a cigar and a scotch, played till 2AM and cashed out 480 dollars. Not too bad? ON A PENNY MACHINE!

Wednesday morning

We checked our cards and saw we had comp money from all the playing we did. I had 6 dollars worht of comp money, my dad had 9 and somehow, my mom had 18. So we put it towards breakfast. We had a nice restaurant and we had this nice man frompuertorico surving us. He was very nice and even put a straw into my juice. We learned that his 19 year old son had luchinia and was going blind. We had thanked him for his great survice and he asked me about books because his son wants to go to college and not sure how. We told him a few things of who he can contact and I even gave the guy my email address to email me if he has any questions. I felt like I did a mitzvah by doing that. I felt so good.

So after a few really restless nights of sleep, I manage to get a solid 5 hours. Ok, I was hoping for double that but it was nice to be back in my own bed again.

The End

Sounds like the wedding was just absolutely beautiful and tons of fun. And yes, that's definitely a jewish tradition - raising the bride and groom up in chairs.

჻ೋ჻ I've been negligent in replying to comments for a while now, so I'm going to reply to the ones you sent in one long comment.

The nice lady's name was Vanessa

I know, I've said it before, it's just that she's my only friend I really have out here. I will just have to try better to not have them over here and only do activities during the day.

I wasn't sure if maybe the behavior issues and the speech problems could be linked. I don't know enough on that to really say for sure, but I was wondering. Honestly, I don't think he does get any vitamins. He eats junk food, fast food, and processed food. She is not at all concerned about him eating healthy at all. I think he does eat meat though, like hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken nuggets.

I like the angel much better than the other one. I have to say the other one reminding me too much of darkness and bitterness in a person. The angel is who I am, who I want to be all the time. It's so pretty too, soft and white and flowing.

The applies really are delicious. It's nice getting fruit that isn't full of nasty stuff. I made some homemade apple cider tonight, it was really good.

I will try to avoid the negative people, but it seems so hard to find people who aren't negative. I want to be able to talk to someone about light hearted and positive things. I've been reading these books, and I have no one to really talk about the stuff in them, the things they make me thing of. It's sad really. I feel like I was born in the wrong era. People don't seem to understand or get my want for a simplistic life, for the way things were a long time ago. They think I'm nuts when I talk about those things lol

I've been blessed lately by the kindness of strangers, just even in small ways. It's amazing how now I recognize even the smallest kindness for being such a blessing and such a big thing in such an unfriendly world. It's so nice and refreshing.

When I saw the ring that said, "I will wait for my beloved" oh it was just so beautiful and romantic and poetic. It was perfect. I think it's wonderful your family has "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" I love that as well. I am one of those romantics who finds those old fashioned type things so romantic.

Facebook is a pain more than anything. I honestly only use it to promote my online resale business and to somewhat keep in contact with old family and friends I don't see much of. I've thought a lot about deleting it. I just don't feel a need for it, it causes more problems than good. And you're right, the stuff you share here is stuff you wouldn't necessarily want people there to know about. I definitely share more here than I do there. I don't know, I might still delete it in the future. I'm running out of reasons to keep it. ჻ೋ჻

The wedding sounds like it was so much fun. I've only been to one wedding and it was a very small country one. And all that food sounds so delicious....I really want crab legs now, lol. I added your poetry diary to my faves.
