A few days ago was the last day of the Spring 2010 Semester at the city college where I tutor students and teach workshops. When I have a massive amount of materials to print, I would send the print job to the printer downstairs (in the common area where students print out their papers, to save money for my department.)
On that last day of the semester, I was printing out a bunch of materials on the common printer. As I was approaching the printer, I am passing by this very beautiful girl of light brown skin studying at a table. She has a resemblance to the actress Thandie Newton (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2228915200/nm0628601), but this girl studying for her biology exam is prettier and younger (approximately 20 years old.)
Our eyes apparently met. Because there are so many beautiful looking women around campus and around New York City, I don’t usually keep prolonged eye contact with a women (since physical beauty is quite common around here.) However, I sustained eye-contact with her as I am approaching the printer passing her by. I didn’t think much about it and just started stationing my laptop next to the printer and began to attempt printing.
For some reason, my computer’s connection with the network was lost. (This never happens when I am right next to this printer.) I started moving around doing trial and era trying to get a spot where I can re-establish the wireless network connection. The spot where I re-established the Wi-Fi connection happened to be at the table right across from this girl. I was just 10 feet directly in front of her when my computer’s wireless connection was re-established. From that spot, I started printing out what I needed to print out. During this process, this girl and I kept exchanging eye contact, on and off (as she is studying her flashcards and I am pulling up stuff on my computer to print.)
As I was doing this, I heard this girl mouth (at a whispering voice) the material she was studying. She was studying an area in biology (the nervous system) where I happened to be familiar with at this time. I really wanted to chime in, and help her out a little bit. However, I didn’t but I was waiting for the right opportunity.
At some point between her studying, she sang a few verses of a Christian song. She has a really good singing voice.
As I finished printing and shut down my computer and packed, she received a phone call and began to talk on the phone. (She was answering someone’s question over the phone about some psychology problems.) At this point, I was done printing and packed up to leave. But I had to go to the bathroom first before heading home.
I proceeded to the bathroom (passing by her.) When I came out, I had to pass by her again. At this point, she was no longer on the phone. This time, as I was passing by her, she smiled at me. So, I smiled back and I asked her, “Are you studying about the nervous system?” She said, “Yes.” I started testing her such as asking her, “What are the nodes of ranvier? How are they involved in the transmission of a nerve signal?” She answered partially right and I partially corrected her. She was genuinely happy to meet me. She asked me enthusiastically, “How you know? What’s your major?” I answered, “I am not a student, but I work upstairs at the writing center on some days. I have a nutrition science degree and I had taken biology classes when I was in college.”
I found out that she intends to be a nursing major. Because she was singing (with a very beautiful voice) some Christian songs earlier in between her studying, I asked her if she was singing Christian songs. I then gave her a business card to promote my blogs at SpirFit.com and stanzo.blogspot.com. I told her that I wrote about the spiritual side of health.
At this point, I think she is really interested in keeping in touch with me as I’ve demonstrated knowledge in biology and possibly for other reasons.
She is on par with the beauty of MC (as I’ve written about at http://www.bloopdiary.com/awakened/the-closest-to-love-at-first-sight), except à this girl studying for her biology exam seems to have a strong relationship with God or is at least Christian (since she was singing Christian songs in public.) I almost didn’t think I could meet anyone as beautiful as MC.
It must be God’s help (or what some call synchronicity) that I so happened to remember to print before leaving for the day (as I’ve frequently forgotten to do so.) It must be God’s help that I stayed at the perfect right timing, that I walked toward the printer passing this girl as she was studying her cards looking forward (as is probably her habit in studying), that the wi-fi connection was lost (uncharacteristically) as I was standing next to the printer, that I had to move to the table right in front of this girl, and that she so happened to be studying about a topic that I recently became reacquainted with.
I really really really hope to see this girl again. I gave her my card with my contact information and my blogs, but I forgot to ask her for her name or her contact information (as I normally do not approach girls no matter how beautiful they are.) I am going to pray (if it’s in God’s will), visualize, and intend continuously that I will come across this girl again and get to know her. I must open this box of Shroedinger's Cat, but first I must find this box again.
