Will I Move Back To California?

11/16/2010

A thought came to mind as I am listening to the song Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down.  This was a song from the days when I lived in the Bay Area (Northern California).

The thought that just occurred to me is the question:  when I get to the end of Stage 1 where I could earn my complete income online, where will I want to live?

God is really allowing things to be thrown at me in New York that I at this point am SOOOO SICK OF NEW YORK.  I am really going to contemplate moving back to California.

However, there is one factor I also have to consider.  My mother turned 65 this year.  She lives in New York.  Although I have a sister in Jersey (a 1.5 hour drive to where my mom is), I don't want to leave her with all the burden in look after ma.

I guess I don't have to consider this question yet.  However, I rather have this problem than have the current problems.

That is tough. I recently moved across the country from my parents. I am the oldest child, with the next oldest (my 20 year old brother) speaking of joining the Army, so who knows where he may end up. My youngest brother is still in high school, but my father will be 60 next year. Not to mention my parents are currently living with and caring for my mother's parents. I sometimes feel guilty that I am not there in case something happens, I am also the oldest grandchild on my mother's side and I don't see any of my mother's siblings taking over for my grandparents if for some reason my parents could not. But even still, I don't have a plan to ever move back at this point, I feel I belong somewhere else, I may not stay forever where I am now, but I definitely do not feel it would be right to move back there. Good luck if you face this decision. Of course you could move back to California and if your mother needed you after that, then you could move back to New York. That could be expensive...

I am not a fan of the military, either, but it's his life, and our father did his 4 years as a US Marine. I think he is really looking to travel, and find a way to pay for medical school. I don't know if he's going to go through with it, it's just been something he's talked about for a year or two now.

I'm aware that my physical age is not old. However, you can tell my herniated vertebral discs and my arthritic knees that, or my rational, practical way of living and my general disdain for mid-20's or college-aged antics, and they wouldn't care what year I was born.

I apologize if I've offended you by feeling older than my age.
