So on Nov 19th P is starting his job. I think I may have mentioned this, but I guess I should have an entry "about me", but I am a registered nurse in a hospital in the city. I work all shifts incl. holidays and weekends. So it's becoming ever closer and far more clear how little we're going to see each other when he starts work. P had been laid off a little over a year ago, but was still taking class so he decided to just use that time to finish up school. Then after he graduated he started panicking because nobody in his field was hiring. It took him since June to get a job. He was one of many candidates and it's an AWESOME position doing exactly what he went to school for.
But because my job requires me to work 3/7 days per week, most of my days off we spent together. And even when I wasn't off, he'd sometimes be here waiting for me to get home. It often felt like we lived together.
But let me give you an example of how often we'll see each other: from December 13th-Jan 13th we will see each other 4 times, 3 of those will be on holidays for just a few short hours because of family commitments.
So going from seeing each other usually at least 5 out of 7 days per week sometimes more, to 4 times in a month, is going to be incredibly hard for us. Don't get me wrong, I know how much more difficult it can be. I was in a long distance relationship for a few years where we saw each other every several weeks for 2 days. One of my best friends' fiance is abroad in Japan because he's in the navy. I know that all things considering, even just that few number of times is lucky. But still, it will be an adjustment.
So, given these circumstances starting in 12 days or so, I'm starting to try and think about what I can do to occupy myself. Things I've been wanting to do forever that have taken a back burner bc I've been so occupied with my relationship with Paul... so I kind of am stream-of-consciousness trying to think of things I actually want to make a goal out of. A lot of them overlap and some of them are so careless when it comes to money, so they may not end up being done, and still others are just mere ideas, but regardless...

Meditate 10 minutes/day
I kind of calculated some stuff out in terms of my weight loss needs so the following is more just for me to have a place to document it all, but in case you're interested:
To lose 5 lbs/month:
calorie deficit of 4200/week, so defecit of 600 calories/day
BMR of 1580/day, so 23-25 points/day= 1150-1250 calories per day equals a defecit of 330-430 calorie defecit per day based on eating.
so on days where I have 25 points, I need to create a workout deficit of 270 calories
on days where I have 23 points, I need to create a workout defecit of 170 calories.
Workouts and their estimated calories burned:
30 day shred= approx 170 calories burned
C25K for 25 minutes= aprox 190 calories
walking for an hour= approx 260 calories
pilates 20 min= approx 130 calories
pilates 60 min= approx 380 calories
gentle yoga for an hour= approx 190 calories
vigorous yoga for an hour= approx 520 calories
circuit training (cardio x) for 45 mins= approx 470 calories
circuit training slim in 6 for 30 mins= approx 300-315 calories (also for card x if that's the time length)
P90X arms and shoulders for 45 mins= 170 calories
