I have noticed more and more people don't understand what freedom and honor actually are.
Freedom: the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint: He won his freedom after a retrial.
Honor: honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions: a man of honor.
We need to understand that this world doesn't entitle us to these things we earn them. We earn them by growing and treating others the way we should. As man grows and the world expands, these simple realities have also grown but into more entitlement. Freedom doesn't just come to you, we are born into a 'free world' but we are born into a relationship to our parents. I lived in their house and under their rules, but I was free. My sister lived in the same house and believed she was not, because there were rules, regulations, and things set forth for us to follow. As she grew, she rebelled as a adult and ran away to what she believed to be freedom.
Her freedom led her right into the hands of oppression and dishonor. He abuses her, alienates her, and he mentally gives her reasons why it is her fault. Is it? I don't know but she has the 'freedom' to choose it. Not be told it.
I married a man, who doesn't question me, or try to convince me of anything. We can discuss without blame or punishment. Each of us has a mind and we use it, not to harm eachother but to learn from eachother. That is the way it should be.
Don't let someone take your Honor away and don't forget what freedom is! |
