Sweet Deals So, the results for round three, challenge two are in for ~themed LIMS, and I've gotta say I am surprised. Usually I don't "win" anything, so the fact that I received the People's Choice was a shocker! I mean, in consideration, not a lot of people voted, and there were other icons that got more positive votes, but either way, I am happy about it!
I also won some awards at RLR, which I am pretty happy about too! So, here they are!
Other than that, I am failing still pretty hard at doing much of anything else on here. I really want to make a layout. I think I have an idea, sort of based of a commercial that I saw recently, but we'll see where it goes. But anyway, the results of ~themed LIMS are below, I am off to enjoy a bath before new cartoons come on finally. What a weekend!

After considering each icon carefully, this icon was the most balanced and best composed. I love the depth of colours they achieved, and the emphasis created by the touch of purple. The tiny text helps continue some of the lines in the image and adds that final touch.
This icon is the best quality icon because as the crop accentuates the subject, so does the purple texture used. It compliments the yellow in the shoes while adding a different colour accent instead of the grass the shoes are sitting on which makes them pop more. In respect to the guideline at hand, the tiny text in the two different shades and the placement of said tiny text really completes the icon.
I love how the maker of this icon was able to incorporate so much purple into the icon without making it overbearing. While purple was a colour in the original image, I don't think many people would've thought to bring that colour out as the most prevalent one and I think it worked out perfectly for this icon.
