Although I don't use the forums, mainly because of the drama attached to them, I think that this is a fair compromise and hopefully it will work out. And if it doesn't, then I think that you've tried your best and you could get rid of them completely. I can say that I wasn't disappointed to see them go in the first place.

I think you should stick with making a separate forum page or is that what you meant by the forums will not be in the lime light?

Will the posts have to be moderated prior to posting? or will the moderators simply have the power to remove offensive stuff?

some how i find the people needing or wanting the forums gone more in the "whiners" category. they either cant seem to figure not how to just not go into the foms i the first place-becasue avoiding them is hard?, or they cant handle them selves and the things said them. i say give Steve and the mods he selects a chance to make them better.

Your reply makes no sense. The only ones whining were the ones who didn't want the forums to go and felt that Steve was punishing them or acting like daddy. Here is a prime example of people on this site taking someone's opinion and making drama out of it.

I don't think the reply was drama at all. It was a perfectly legitimate response. I think people overract over the slightest remarks consisting of different opinions if they're not a disclaimer- filled apology fest, and it limits communication in general. People inventing drama out of comments that weren't dramatic were always the problem, and your comment is an example of it.

I must say I found the comments about Steve being a 'daddy' a bit odd. I suspect that's more to do with people's perception and experiences than about reality, and they take something personally which is not at all personal. Maybe because they are so young they see anyone in authority doing something they don't like as a daddy figure punishing them.

While I think it's perfectly legitimate for Steve to reconsider his decision in the light of what Bloopers want, I do people's daddy projections onto him are very odd and warped! This is Steve's site, it's a free service, and he's the one who has to maintain it - as far as I'm concerned he can do whatever he wants. But it makes more sense to keep people happy if he wants more people on Bloop.

There were more people disappointed than there were who supported the decision. I think giving it a fair chance is in order. And for those of you like yourself who don't like it, then all I can tell you is stay out of the forums and it won't be your issue.

imo the people who wanted the forums GONE are the "whiners". Constantly saying how drama-filled the forums are. If you don't like the forums, don't GO to them. It's really not difficult.

The people with the biggest problems in the forums are people who come into them, and say stupid shit. Of COURSE someone is going to reply to it. It wouldn't be any different than a diary entry. Someone posts something stupid, someone is going to call them out on their stupidity.

Hey Steve if you're looking for moderators, I'd love to be one! I don't care to go to the forums, but if it's for a "job", I'd be up for it! It'd bring me back to the site, which is always a good thing. xD

I love Bloop and would love to contribute more.
