THERE IS SOMETHING WEIRD WITH THE TASKBAR, YO. LIKE I HAVE SELECTED THE UK AS MY COUNTRY. BUT ON MY TASKBAR IT SAYS 'BLOOP INTL.' I CAN CLICK ON IT AND THERE IS THE OPTION TO CHANGE TO 'SWITCH TO UK' SO I DO THAT AND THEN IT SAYS 'BLOOP UK'. HOWEVER, IF I SWITCH TO ANOTHER DIARY (AND ALL MY DIARIES HAVE 'UK' SELECTED!) IT GOES BACK TO 'BLOOP INTL'. AND FURTHERMORE, IF I THEN RETURN TO PUCK, IT SAYS 'BLOOP INTL' ALL OVER AGAIN. IT IS TOO CONFUSING, YO!

DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO MY BLOOP EXPERIENCE - LIKE SPELLING AND STUFF - WHETHER I HAVE 'BLOOP INTL' OR 'BLOOP UK' SELECTED? OR DOES IT NOT MATTER? LIKE IS IT WORTH ME CONTINUING TO CHANGE IT TO 'BLOOP UK'? WHAT IS IT EVEN THERE FOR? LIKE WHAT IS THE PURPOSE? IS IT TO FILTER GOOGLE SEARCHES?

Estella, when you switch to the UK, if you click it again you'll see you can set it as your default. This should solve the problem you're having.

Oh, and the idea of different domains is that the main page is filtered down to country level, where as Bloop Intl. displays all diaries.

i am trying to use the messenger thing...but no one will respond? even people online, they said they never got the message. does it not work?

^^ at the moment, the messenger will only work if you have the taskbar enabled. If you send a message to someone that doesn't have the taskbar enabled, they won't receive your message sadly!

okies... I'm sure this has been asked... but its a concern of mine based on er... previous events in recent times where nearly all of us has lost parts or all of our diaries.

what is actually wrong with the d/l my diary feature? will it be fixed? how long are we looking at until it is fixed? is there any reason it's not been fixed yet, despite other changes and fixes that have gone on??

Whilst i think the messenger thing is cute and a cool little tool to have and i love the idea... i'd like to think that our diaries were safe before worrying about another way to communicate with each other?

Blue Bella,

The messenger feature is actually a prototype that is going to be used on another website that I'm coding. I decided to develop it here because there are users that can test it.

The download my diary feature will be working again soon, I didn't actually realise it was broken! There probably isn't much wrong with the feature, I think it just needs configuring to work with the new server.

As for the safety of the diaries, this server has dual hard drives and backs up every night by itself. It emails me when the backup has been completed. So even if we have a kernel crash like what happened on the old server, I'll always have the database with changes no older than 24 hours.

I also periodically download the backup that the server makes, so I feel considerably safer than I have done in the past where backups have been a nightmare to manage.
