Contract Marriage

I've always wanted to be in the military. Always. And now, I'm a single Mom and they won't take me. While discussing this with a friend, he offered me an easy solution - a contract marriage. We're good enough friends we could easily live together, and we'd always joked if we were both single when I'm 25, we'd get married anyways. Whats a couple years differance? I'm really considering going through with it. I just don't know how to make it look legit...I know most contract marriages take place in a courthouse, without anyone being told, but, that would be the first red flag, especially to my family, that something was amiss...but so would just jumping into things.

they wont take u bcus who will keep ur kids when ur deployed.. they would think ur "husband" would.. plus if u die god forbid.. he will get ur benifts.. not ur kids.

Is that really what you want to do? The reason they won't take single parents is because you get deployed. You could die. And then what happens to your kids? If you marry this "friend", then HE gets your benefits and your kids when you die overseas. Is that really something you want to risk? really?

Is your heart set on Army? What about reserves? I know they will take a single parent into the reserves and you could get deployed (as long as you have a will/back up plan for the kids), etcetcetc.

Perhaps he just wants to marry you so if you die
when you get deployed, he can get your benefits.
I know that may be hard for some people to believe,
even you...but it is a possibility. You really never know
people like you think you do.
