Faith

If you feel that you should believe in God, perhaps it's something worth looking into? A lot of people grow up with no real religious influence in their life and feel the same way you do when they get older (I'm one of these people. Although I've always believed in God... religion was just very lax in my house.)

I think if you're considering some sort of relationship with God (however big or small) that Bloop is a good place to help with that. There are a lot of people on here who could help answer any questions you have (you're more than welcome to private message me!

And alternatively, it's perfectly acceptable for a person not to believe in God and the poster should be well aware that there are just as many non-believers as there are believers. It's perfectly acceptable not to believe in a god and there is nothing wrong with that, the poster shouldn't feel like it's "not ok" to not believe in a god

If the poster wants to believe in a god then there is a community there to support him/her
If poster you want to continue not believing in a god, then by all means don't feel like you have to and don't feel like there aren't others out there who would support you.

Exactly. I think I may have read this secret a little wrong I took it as like the poster saying all the religious stuff on Bloop is making them want to believe in God, or something along those lines

I should add, to the poster: I have friends of all religions, and one of my closest friends is an Atheist... I respect all of their views and opinions

My religion works for me, and others should do what works for them. Whether that's having a relationship with God, not believing He exists, or anything in between

Oh you're awesome! Haha I was a little worried that you might feel I was trying to "correct" you or "attack" you. I actually believe in god, just not in a mainstream sort of way.


I just like to point out everything - the grander picture, that everyone is different and not everyone has to believe the same thing. I respect diversity and I have a huge respoect for people who are able to accept that there are different beliefs, "cultures" etc.


Bloop is awesome though because there are so many different people with so many different views and while it does sometimes cause conflict, at least there are people out there who share similar experiences or ideas and we are able to open up that communication.

I like my bloop friends who ask for positive thoughts as often as they ask for prayer-- I think maybe you're gravitating towards more religious blogs? I don't notice any more or less than there were in the past.

I guess it's normal to feel pressure from something that you're constantly exposed to, even if it's not how you truly feel or what you truly believe. But you should know that anyone worth your time on Bloop shouldn't, and wouldn't, give you beef for not sharing the same religious beliefs they do. =)

Anyway, I respect other peoples' beliefs and I expect them to respect mine. I'm not religious but I do believe that there is something out there - whether it be a God, Gods or even aliens. Frick, the hell I know!?

I don't want people to shove their religions down my throat. I'll freaking shove my fist down theirs' haha joking - but, yeah, they can try to change/convert me but they will be wasting their time. =P

You won't ever know that. Because there are of course some religious people for whom it's not okay that you don't believe in God. There will always be people who don't think your beliefs/lifestyle are okay. You can't change that. So the question is more about whether you're okay with them holding beliefs about you that you disagree with, or whether you're letting yourself be defined by someone else's opinions.

If you don't believe in God, you don't believe in God. If you are an athieist you're an atheist. It's whatever you have chosen. So long as you have thought about it and decided to believe what you believe on your own and aren't just sheepleing after your parents.

Im pretty sure they will respect your beliefs. From my experience, the "God believers" are very respectful of others beliefs and the "Non believers" kinda dont have respect for the believers and make fun of Christians. Just my experience, so Im sure youll be fine.

Maybe other people, even so-called believers, might have similar ideas as yours and you might not know it until you ask.

I don't believe in god, and that's ok.

There is a reason most of the genius population don't.

The only faith I have is in the stupidity of the human race. Nothing that leads people to do harm to others is worth believing in. (God "Fearing" religions are the #1 reason)

I believe in Karma... I suppose that makes me more a buddhist than anything. Love everyone as you wish to be, yourself, loved.

All in all... believe what you want, it doesn't matter, as long as you are making a positive impact on the world while doing it.

Christianity and like religions are losing their grip on society. It just seems like it isn't because they are still the ones screaming the loudest in every public forum they can find and they are the ones trying to cram their ideals down everyone's throats.

I don't like pushy salesmen, and I tend to avoid products that are sold by them. and that's why I have steered clear of any kind of christian faith since I was old enough to think for myself.

It's the same reason I don't have any desire to own an iPod or iPhone... I am significantly turned off by loud-mouth simpletons plugging a product, no matter what it might be.

If I have a significant intellectual conclusion pointing out as to why I should support something, I'll consider it. It's just that no one's offered such a conclusion for Christianity or iProducts.

How can you tell him/her to believe what she wants while also implying Christians are stupid, out of touch with reality and "pushy salesmen"? That's like saying "make your own choice as long as it's not the wrong one and Christianity would be a wrong choice".

You're not an example of someone who is open minded... You're obviously very close-minded if you'll judge a religion of millions of people like that. And it makes you no better than those "salesmen" you despise. If it's not OK for Christians to push people towards Christianity (and I don't think it is. And I'm Christian) then it's certainly not OK for you to push people away from Christianity to fit in with YOUR beliefs (or lack of).

Actually, not really. But I'm not really surprised that someone of Christian faith would just jump straight to the extreme like that. I haven't met many who don't.

I am intrigued as to why you show such aggression towards people of religion though. And find it ironic that you're telling the poster to believe what she wants while demonstrating the abuse that Christians are so often subjected to by atheists. Read it and pay attention to the way it's worded, for crying out loud. Stop treating me like I'm some kind of close minded idiot and read all the words in the way they were presented and quit adding your own into what I said.

But for YOUR benefit, let me break it all down for you bit by bit and explain what it all means for you because you seem incapable of doing it yourself.

But that's not the only thing I directed this statement in, I simply stated the single biggest cause.

I don't believe in God, but that's not a bad thing. You shouldn't feel bad that you don't believe in God. No one has a right to judge you on that. But perhaps you should look into why you might feel the way you do. Do you think that perhaps you want to have a belief in something and just aren't sure what?

People bash believers as much as they do non-believers. Generally moreso from what I've seen on bloop in the past. Believe what you want, only that matters is what's between you and God. If you don't believe then you've got nothing to worry about in that aspect.
