What's your secret?

I judge you

03/22/2011

I know it's wrong, but when I see someone wearing expensive brand name clothes, I feel all prideful and judgmental inside. I'm thinking, "HaHaHa! With what you paid for that one shirt I could have gotten four perfectly good ones! Loser!"
I figure the person is either too stupid to do simple math or is so pathetically desperate for the acceptance of others that he or she is willing to throw away his or her money.
I've never said anything to anybody about it, and have tried to stop feeling this way but I can't seem to do it.

I get the feeling you're the type of person who talks shit about these things until you get them yourself.

I'll bet if someone handed you a Louis Vuitton tote bag and said 'Heres an early Christmas present' you'd wet yourself with excitement.

Oh no, I'm such a loser that I buy clothes I like, oh no, how unworthy I am!!!

[TransitStar|0 likes] [|reply]

ever considered they maybe bought the item because they liked it, regardly of the designer? often is the case

[rabbit heart|0 likes] [|reply]

"Make it burn always with the hardest flame!"It's their choice what they buy and how much money they spend. What's it to you?

Anyway, keep trying. If you put your mind to it then you will be able to stop feeling this way (:♥

Haha I know right.... I am sorry... When I go into expensive stores and I see a shirt that I really like and it is AppleBottom or Baby Phat, I do not care if it is 70 damn dollars. I do not have to impress anyone. I get it because I like it. It isn't their fault that you are poor and can only afford the Good old Sam. Haha Loser!!!!

Lol... They do need to make a like button on here.

[{¢}-§@§§¥-{¢}Star|0 likes] [|reply]

well thats nice info GOD... wtf, dont hate on people who could afford them or decide to get them. its their money, and they get what they want with it!!

[fearless♥loveStar|0 likes] [|reply]

Everyone splurges on different things. Myself, I don't really buy very expensive clothing, simply because I can't afford it. But if I could, I would spend a little more money because I do tend to have expensive taste. I just can't support it financially.

[JanesseStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I get like that sometimes. I just try and convince myself that "No..no, they must have an obscenely rich relative who bought them all these things as presents..yes..that is clearly the case." and move on. However, anyone who wears Ed Hardy anything needs to be beaten to death.

How do you necessarily know it was expensive? Could have been purchased at an outlet store or *gasp* even a 2nd hand store!

I've seen Coach purses at local thrift stores

[The Mama Star|0 likes] [|reply]

Exactly.♥ -

[Lauren.Star|0 likes] [|reply]

so uh. Where are these thrift stores exactly?

Cuz I'll road trip.

[Patchwork PrincessStar|0 likes] [|reply]

Pittsburgh, PA

I was SHOCKED. See, the key is to go to the "richier" neighborhood thrift stores. My friend and I do it all the time, I cant tell you how much awesome "expensive" things we've found!

[The Mama Star|0 likes] [|reply]

I'll have to remember that

[Patchwork PrincessStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I see em in Denver all the time!

Judge me all you want. You'll still mean less to me than my LV bags. lol

But, if you're judging someone on something so meaningless as brands, I'm curious to know what else you judge people about.

Oh, I'm pretty good at math, and I have nothing to prove to anyone. Isn't it funny how a regular person can just have a preference?

[Emily the StrangeStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I'm with you. Designer clothes are so overpriced and nine times out of ten it's not even obvious it's designer. I'm all for buying reasonably priced clothes that fit and look good, not paying through the nose because of the brand name.

[Acid Fairy|0 likes] [|reply]

definitely don't judge people because they have something that probably you really want but can't have.

[His♥Babe|0 likes] [|reply]

For all you know, the person wearing the expensive brand name clothing has enough money to buy the clothes they are wearing, plus 10 four more. Seriously? I sense jealousy coming from your end to their's... -True

[True|0 likes] [|reply]

Why do you give a shit how people spend their money? Who gives a shit how someone spends their money, so long as it's theirs. Maybe they like what they buy, not because of the approval of peers, but because they like it. Maybe you should get a fucking hobby.

[kein mitleidStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I can somewhat see what you're getting at. I could afford a Coach bag every month if I wanted but I never understood the need for the "label". I don't want to be someone's walking billboard so I don't buy clothes with logos (unless it's supporting a charity). What's funny is I WAS actually given a Coach wristlet and I sold it to my cousin. It's just not my style, BUT I don't judge people who buy them. Someone's gotta buy it, right?

[Addicted to CraftStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I agree. I would rather be thrifty with my money. I could never see myself carrying a Coach bag either. My style is totally different. But I don't judge anyone either, just as I expect people not to judge my style.

[holyemoly.Star|0 likes] [|reply]

I feel the same way... but I'm a bitch and tell them what I think.

[Ice Vampire|0 likes] [|reply]

What bothers me more is when parents buy their little kids clothes like that, then get upset that they get dirty because the kid plays in the cloths. HERPADERP!

[Ice Vampire|0 likes] [|reply]

You shouldn't care what others do with their money.

[Lady Burt♥|0 likes] [|reply]

I would hate to see what else you judge people based on.

[holyemoly.Star|0 likes] [|reply]

Aw guys, don't get so defensive over your expensive playthings. If you enjoy them, power to you. Likewise, there are people that are a bit more tight with their money.

Personally I just shake my head... I mean, I'm not in the best financial situation so that 70$ spent on a SHIRT could have been put toward a bill or something, you know? It's just how it is. :/

So yeah, spend your money - stimulate the economy or whatever... but being defensive as all get out over someone that's openly said "I'm trying NOT to think about it in such a way, really" is... well. Silly. I'm sorry, I said it. Just breathe.

[Doing DallasStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I agree

[Hidden DepthsStar|0 likes] [|reply]

Not all designer clothes can be bought at full price. They do sell them to other stores when it's clearances or discontinued.

[.love.struck.Star|0 likes] [|reply]

or at an outlet. My mom never pays full price for her Coach bags.

[fearless♥loveStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I feel the same way as you do I actually made fun of name brand clothes to my sister "Look!!! For $40 MORE they'll rip 'em up FOR you!! What a deal!" it's like, have an adventure of your own and get a legitimate tear in your jeans.. don't go for that hyped up "distressed" look. for serious. Idiots.

[Hidden DepthsStar|0 likes] [|reply]

I love you forever for that comment. Lol
