I'm dishonest...

07/21/2010

...about how I feel about gay marriage.

I PRETEND to be in favor of it, but I'm actually against it. I just cannot wrap my mind around how in the world two men or two women can be "married." But I don't dare speak up about this, because it's not politically correct to be against gay marriage. But I view it as socially deviant. Normal marriage really is between a natural man and a natural woman. It just IS.

That's how I see it.

Nobody really gives a shit whether or not YOU'RE for or against it. It's up to Congress at this point.

I don't see how a man and a woman can be married, either. I mean think about it- What IS marriage? It's nothing but a legal partnership based on love and supporting each other (oh, and giving the government money). Gay people can have those things, but people freak out when they try to sign the stupid paperwork and make it legal. Some straight people don't even have those things, but they can do it with no problems! So what the hell. It's all a joke anyway.

ahhh one of those people

if you cannot say they are married - say "domestic parntership" thats another term

i used to think like you till my bestfriend admit to me she was gay then i met a bunch of gay people, i love them... i dont even think anything of it. i gotta say im PROUD that my best friend is gay she has a wonderful finacee shes marrying next june... it will be one hell of a wedding to see the "girl and the boy" like

i am glad i accepted it because it might have ruined my friendship with her.

I thought it was politically correct to be against gay marriage, at least until recently. I really don't care what sex chooses to love what sex, as long as those two individuals are happy :]

i'm with poetic justice... "marriage" (back in the day) was for land. sharing a bunch of land between two families (as opposed to doing a land-deed, selling it, blah blah blah). It was a way to keep possessions in the family (as opposed to selling it).

Marriage, these days, is a joke. How many divorces has harry carry had? what about other celebs? Also-- those "marriages" are about publicity if anything... not dividing/keeping land. (prenups).

so, I guess I'm asking you, what do you think the definition of marriage is? what about it is "unnatural"?

Keep your head up. You are right.

People have forgotten or rejected the power that ordains and defines marriage, so they don't know what it means anymore.

Stand strong. Waver not. You are right.

I think it's more of having the right to get married, more than it is the marriage itself. Gays just want the same rights as straight people, because biologically speaking, we're all the same. We're all human, and as human beings, it's our right to be accepting and understanding of those who may be a little different from us.
Just because you can't get your mind around two men getting married, doesn't mean it's wrong.
