Your head, my head, life in general.
I took your virginity,
as you cupped my heart so tightly.
So tightly you made it burst,
into a billion spouts,
slowly leaking from my chest,
over my stomach and legs to my feet.
You bruised my face, neck, arms, stomach.
& I stood close when you grasped my waist,
teary eyed and saying you were sorry,

no more,
never again.
And yet, again and again it happened.
I've stood close for a year.
I've stood close in silence.
Never showing anyone the scars.
And at that party, where you slapped me around.
They saw me naked.
I showed all, everything I tried so hard to keep
between us,
behind locked doors
tucked away in that back corner of my mind.
Every little secret I never wanted them to know.
My coworkers, friends, family.
& so, I'm done, over. Moving on.
I've given you enough chances this past year.
