The Courtship
Where did you and your military man meet?:

How did you feel about him being in/joining the military?:
I was very, very proud of him when he joined and I still am.
Did you have to wait for him while he went to boot camp?:
Yes. We got to talk a total of about 3 minutes and I got 2 letters from him over that 7 week period.
Did you attend his boot camp graduation?:
Yes! Seeing him again was amazing.
The Marriage
Were you married before or after he joined?:
After
Where did he propose?:
On the beach
Did he wear his uniform on your wedding day?:
No. We just had a super casual court house ceremony. If we have a "real" wedding he will whether he wants to or not.
Was he home the full first year of your marriage?:
Well we've only been married a few weeks but no he will not be. We're currently not living in the same state because he is getting ready to go TDY to Germany until sometime next year. Dates keep changing on us.
How long were you married when you had to go through your separation?:
About 3 days until I had to come back home. We'll be apart until next year when he gets back from Germany.

How many bases have you guys been stationed at?:
He's still at his first base. New orders due in March.
What's been your favorite base?:
Only been to one.
Ever lived in base housing?:
No. We plan on living off base.
What's the best thing about being a military wife?:
Having a husband that I am so proud of!
What's the worst?:
The distance and never knowing where you're going to end up.
How many deployments have you survived?
None.
Do you send care packages?:
I will.
Do you go to the commissary on payday?
No way. I've heard stories about how crazy it gets.
Have you ever worked at the PX?:
No.
Do you own any Military wife stuff?:
Well I have a shirt that says "I love my Airman" but that's it.
Do you know your husband's branch hymn?:
No.
Have you ever been to his promotion ceremony?
No but I would love to go to his next one.
Is he a lifer?:
We're not sure yet. Some days he talks about what he's going to do when his 4 years are up and others he's talking about when he retires in 20 years. He'll most likely stay in awhile though. |
