Remember Me? By Sophie Ki

11/27/2008

Thought I'd go ahead and get this diary started again.

As usual, anyone is free to review a book at any time! Just send a message to the diary if you don't have/know/remember the password/login and someone will get back to you, I'm sure.

Anyways, picked up this Kinsella at the library and thought it'd be a nice, light weekend read. The basic plot begins with Lexi, who is slightly unsuccessful, slightly unmotivated, slightly overweight, and slightly unhappy. Or, so she was before she went to sleep. She wakes up, and BAM, 3 years have passed. Through a horrendous traffic accident, Lexi has completely lost her memory of that span. But, she quickly learns that things have still changed, even without her present awareness. She is now a successful business woman with a rich husband and a to-die-for physique.

Lexi's husband, of course, is a stranger to her at this point. She can't remember her discipline for low-carb living or her cut-throat business demeanor that obviously got her to this point. When did things change so drastically? Can Lexi maintain this life, or does she even want to do such?

This is a pretty typical Kinsella, light, fun, and quick, although probably not as funny as some I've read in the past. The amnesia bit is, of course, cheesy and convenient, but Kinsella still has a way with a story that makes you want to keep reading, even though you know it's all totally ridiculous.

This will definitely appeal to fans of chicklit, fans of Sophie Kinsella, and anyone who wants a fast, girly read that can be managed in the span of a couple of hours. Don't expect rocket science here, but for what it's worth, quite the enjoyable read!

I really like Kinsella... My favourite books of hers are the shopoholic series.... Becky Bloomwood/Brandon is a great character!
