"The Lord open your eyes, poor blind bats, for if there is anything that stares in the face of man who is willing to see it, it is God, and God at work in providence, in nature, in grace, and in all sorts of ways!" Charles Haddon Spurgeon
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed....Carl Boberg
What do you see when you look up into the sky and see what seems like an endless array of stars or look through a telescope and see the planets? Do you look at these marvels and say to yourself, "What an awesome God has placed these into existence?" When you see the animals of this world in all their majestic colors and all of their splendor do you wonder why God made these miraculous animals? Perhaps like myself when you witnessed the birth of your child or friends you were confronted with the very real evidence that God is the creator of all life and how fearfully and wonderfully we were made in His image.
When I see thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast established; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? (Psa 8:3-4)
People all over the world say to themselves and others, "if God is real why doesn't he just reveal himself to me? " The aanswer is found every time we look at the marvelous planet, the solar systems beyond which we have never even been able to see, and the complexity of this world. Yet as the hymnist would right, he might be able to understand this and while in awe of all that surronds him there is one thing he cannot fathom. One thing that is so completely foreign to his minds eye and it is this.
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing; Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin.
Who are we that this majestic God,. the creator and sustainer the world that he would even consider us much less make the uliimate sacrifice of his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, the Lord Jesus Christ? Why do we merit such love, such compassion, and such great mercy? What is man that he is mindful of us...Well God tells us we are His Beloved, his Bride, his creation, His image, and his Chosen.
